Co. bond & policy to Co. ` Reports for June Refuse & Sewer , Terminate :Millie E.dilson-Refuse l Jessie E,Dowell permanent lirem Liability Insu Roscoe Burgess At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on July 28, 1959, Mayor Jacobs presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Fairhurst Fendley, Gholson, Hook amd Mayor Jacobs (5). Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for July 14th and July 17th, 1959 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). / Commissioner Fairhurst offered the folloiring motion: I move that the letters from 9oodall &Melton dated July 16, 1959, requesting return of public liability policy and permit bond of John Cassidy Construction Company, also memorandum from Ray Kayse, Directox of Public Works, be received and filed. Since it appears frum said 'memorandum from tdr. Hayse that all permits for John Cassidy Construction Company have been approved, I further move that the City Clerk be directed to return said bond and policy to iMoodall & Melton. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fairhurst offered motionthat the reports of the Paducah Plater Works be received and filed, and that the following checks be turned over to the City Treasurer to be deposited in the proper accounts: Refuse collections for June 1959 110,353 .55 Sewer Service Charges for June, 1959 10,250.00 Bad refuse accounts collected during June, 1959 5.60 Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fairhurst offered the following motion: I move that the memorandum from Lloyd C. Emery, City Manager to the Board of Commissioners, dated July 28, 1959, relative to Millie E. Wilson, a truck driver in the Refuse Division of the Public works Department, and requesting his services as such be terminated at the end of the work day of July 29, 1959, be received and filed I further move that the employment of the said Willie E. 1Milson as such truck drive be, and the same is hereby, terminated as of the end of the working day July 29, 1959. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and t•Iayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the letter from Ed Turner, Fire Chief, addressed to the City I•Tanager dated 'July 16, 1959, advising that Jessie E. Dowell has completed fifteen (15) days of probationary period in the fire department and recommending that his appointment be made permanent as of July 16, 1959, be received and filed, and he further moved that the said Jessie E. Dowell be, and he is now, made a permanent employee of thb fire department. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Cholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). :e Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, approt /and file liability insurance issued by the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, covering work done by Roscoe Burgess for a period of one year from July 9, 1959.. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, Dortha ':)hitt approve and file liability insurance issued by American Surety Company of New York jj to City of Paducah, Kentucky, covering work done by Dortha Whitt for a period of one year from August 20, 1959. Employ Queen e� Commissioner Gholson offered motion that Mrs. Queenie Dinning be employed temporaz Dinning Temp y Finance ily in the Finance Department of the City of Paducah, beginning August 1, 1959, at the salary of;'¢1$0.00 per month; such appointment being temporary with no sick, leave or any Other benefits provided for by ordinance, and such employment- is to be only as long as ii needed by the City Treasurer and such services may be terminated at any time upon his �I request. Albert dated July resignation VVV 2$, 1959 to the Board of Commissioners, withdrawing his services as an Attorney for the enforcement of the collection of delinquent real estate taxes and improvement assessment; be received and filed. He further moved that such resignation be accepted, and that his services as such be terminated as of July 31, 1959. Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE EMPLOYMENT OF WILLIAMS, SIILLIAMS AND LENTZ, CERTIFIED PUBLIC ACCOUNTANTS, TO MAKE AN AUDIT OF THE ACCOUNTS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH AND ALL CITY OFFICERS FOR THE YEAR 1959 IN CONSIDERATION OF THE PAYMENT TO THEM OF THE SUM OF u3,000.00", be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least one (1) week in the completed form in ainich it shall be put upon its final passage.
