At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambe of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on October 9, 1962, I:ayor Pro Tem Gholson presided in the absence of 11avor Cherry and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Mayor Cherry absent. Mavor Pro Tem Gholson offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for September 25th and 28th, 1962 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Trayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the resignation of Charles Rayburn, a laborer in the Maintenance Department of the City of Paducah, effective October 2, 1962 be received, accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Payor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the I sale by the City of Paducah to Dorothy Trice of the northeast corner of Lot No. 315 in Block No. 6 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). ve' Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the resignation of George W. Meadows, a laborer in the Street Division of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, effective September 28, 1962, be received, accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and MAyor Pro Tem Gholson (4). / Commissioner Karnes offered the following motion: Upon recommendation of Ray Kayse, Director of Public Works, I move that L. A. Harris, a truck driver in the Street Division, be advanced to equipment operator, effective October 16, 1962. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Employ Archil Commissioner Karnes offered the following motion: I move that the Corporation Firm Stone & Associates. Counsel be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to prepare, for submission to this Corporation Counsel pre- Board, the necessary documents to employ the architectural firm of Eduard Durrell Stone & pare documen s Associates of New York City, to assist and collaborate with Lee Potter Smith & Associates of Paducah, Inc. in the design and planning for the construction of a new city hall building. TO CONSOLIDATE ITS APPLICATION IN DOCKET NO. 14037 INTO THE PROCEEDING UNDER DOCKET 110. 13602", be adopted. Commissioner Fendley offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINAPICE PROVIDING FOR AND AUTHORIZING THE TRANSFER OF $213,820.00 FROM THE PUBLIC 11ORKS CUMULATI RESERVE FUND OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO THE URBAN RENEWAL AND COT-U-TUNITY DEVELOPiENT AGENCY OF SAID CITY FOR THE ACQUISITION OF ALL THE LAND IPI AN AREA IN SAID CITY BOUNDED Oki THE NORTH BY 'WASHINGTON STREET, ON THE EAST BY FOURTH STREET, OP: THE SOUTH BY CLARK STREET AND ON THE WEST BY FIFTH STREET, AS A SITE FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW CITY HALL BUILDING, AND FOR THE COST OF CLEARING SAID SITE AND OTHER INCIDENTAL AND NECESSARY EXPENSES IN CONNECTION THEREWITH", be adopted.
