Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah September 28 1062
At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission. Chamber
of the City !call, Paducah, Kentucky, at 5:00 P.M. on September 28, 1962, 1-3ayor Cherry
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Fendley, Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (5).
i:ayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Tlinutes for September 11 and
September 18, 1962 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City
Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley
Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (5).
14ayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called
Meeting to be held at 5:00 P.M. on September 28, 1962, be received and filed. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor
Cherry (5).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the claim of Pars, Gladys Nall (1121 South
11th Street, Paducah, Kentucky) in the sum of $350.00 for injuries received by her on
October 3, 1961 because of an alleged defective sidewalk condition near 2nd and Washingtoi
Streets be allowed, and after securing a full release the Treasurer pay said claim to
her and 1-1r. Roy H. Vance, her attorney. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commission-
ers Fendley, Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the reports of the Paducah :later Storks
be received and filed, and that the following checks be turned over to the City
to be deposited in the proper accounts:
Refuse collections for August, 1962 $9,911.55
Seller Service Charges for August, 1962 9,850.00
Bad Refuse accounts collected during August, 1962 22.60

Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the executed copy of the Contract between
the City of Paducah and .l. H. Yancy, for the resurfacing of various streets in the City
of Paducah, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Fendley, Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance of U. H. Yan
respecting work done in the City of Paducah, be received, approved and filed. Adopted
on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Payor
Cherry (5)•
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the Performance Bond for resurfacing
streets in the City of Paducah, Kentucky of W.H.Yanq/& Sons Asphalt Paving Company,
with The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York as Surety, be received, approved and
filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Hornsby,
Karnes and Mayor Cherry (5)/
ken Ilayor Cherry offered motion that the letter from the Paducah McCracken Development
/,touncil concerning the method of financing the construction of Phases 1 and 2 of the
sewer improvement plan designed by Burns & McDonnell, Consulting Engineers, be received
and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Hornsby:,
Karnes and Mayor Cherry (5).

i.Iayor Cherry offered the following; motion: i move that The Kentucky Company
and Stein Bros. & Boyce be employed .jointly as fiscal agents of the City in connection
with the issuance and sale of bonds for the extension and improvement of the se:•rer
system of the City, under the terms and conditions set forth in the proposal of The
Kentucky Company heretofore received and filed by this Board on October 3, 1961; and
that the Corporation Counsel be, and he is hereby, instructed to prepare the necessary
resolution or ordinance covering such employment. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas
Commissioners Fendley, Cholson, Hornsby and Kayor Cherry (L), Commissioner Karnes voted
"No".
On motion the meetin,- adjourned.
