Mayor Pro Tem Gholson offered motion that the executed copies of the '!otice of Called Meeting to be held at 7:30 P.1,1. on August 13, 1962, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Tlayor Pro Tem Gholson_ (4). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the petition of I. J. Englert for per- mission to make one 3/L inch connection to the existing 2 inch privately owned water pipe line located on Rutter Street for the purpose of furnishing: water to one residence only upon Lot No. 136 of Utterback-Bell subdivision and fronting on Rutter Street in ilcCracken County, Kentucky, and outside the Corporate Limits of the City of Paduca(i, be received and filed, and that the request petitioned for therein be granted, subject to the terms and conditions in said petition. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Payor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Commissioner Karnes offered motion that the petition signed by Dir. & Mxs. Herman Boechmann and others, requesting an alley in back of their houses, running off Pines Roac between Country Club Lane and North valley Road, be received and filed. Pleasant and others requesting the installation of a street light on 9th Street between Tennessee and Jones Streets, be received and filed. Commissioner Fendlev offered motion that the Paducah -McCracken Development Council be requested to submit to this Board, as soon as practicable, its suggestions and recommendations for building plans and design for a new city hall building to be con- structed upon the block of land situated between 4th Street, 5th Street and Washington Street and Clark Street. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Increase Bond of Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the endorsement which forms a part of Loren R. Jones Special Permit Bond tissued to Loren R. Jones by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York, increasing the amount of said bond to $2000, be received, approved and filed. No 09 Proceedings of %A-1 of Cnmm; mac; nnA,•c Qy of Paducah August 13, 1962 Commissioner Fendley offered motion that Charles Rayburn be employed as laborer in the Maintenance Department of the City of Paducah, retroactive to August 10, 1962, at a salary of $232.00 per month. Such employment is temporary and no civil service ri hts or other rights under any law or ordinance shall be covered by this employment. Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that Jewell Elrod be employed as laborer i the Maintenance Department of the City of Paducah, retroactive to August 9, 19621 at a salary of $232.00 per month. Such employment is temporary and no civil service rights f other rights under any law or ordinance shall be covered by this employment. Adopted o call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholso (4), Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the services of William T. Schaeffer, maintenance man in the Park Department, be terminated as of July 31, 1962. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholso (4). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the liability Insurance Policy issued L by Commercial Standard Insurance company to Barney Purcell and City of Paducah, Kentuck , for a period of one year from June 9, 1962, be received, approved and filed. Clymer and wife, Martha S. Clymer, and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, dated July 30, 1962, and recorded ih Deed Book 437, page 53 in McCracken County Court Clerk's office, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve th :)n sale by the City of Paducah to Kathleen Foster of the southwest corner of Lot No. 24 in Block No. 8 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Commissioner Karnes offered motion that an executed copy of a Lease between Kiwanis Club of Paducah, Kentucky, and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, affecting propert on the north side of Broadwav between 17th and 19th Streets, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). / Commissioner Fendley offered the following motion: I move that James Hayden Futrell be employed as an Applicant -Candidate for employment as a firemen in the Fire Department of the City at a salary of $270.00 per month, effective August 16, 1962, pro- vided by such time he furnishes, at his expense, a satisfactory nedical report as to his phyeical condition, including an electrocardiogram. This employment is made under the provisions of an ordinance providing for such employment adopted April 27, 1962 by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and is subject to all terms, conditions and provisions contained therein. Commissioner Fendley offered motion that Edgar Stratton be employed as a policemt in the Police department of the City of Paducah, at a beginning salary of $280.00 per month effective September 1, 1962, at 7:00 A.M., provided that by such time he furnishes at his own expense, the City Manager with a satisfactory medical report as to his physic condition, including an electrocardiogram. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that George L. Coleman be employed as a policeman in the Police Department of the City of Paducah, at a beginning salary of $280.00 per month, effective September 1, 1962, at 8:30 P.M., provided that by such timt he furnishes, at his own expense, the City Manager with a satisfactory medical report as to his physical condition, including an electrocardiogram.
