At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall; Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.N. on i'arch 6, 1962, Liayor Cherry
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Gholson, Karnes and TIayor Cherry (3), Commissioners Fendley and Hornsby being absent (2).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Uotice of Called
Teeting to be held on Larch 6, 1962 at 7:30 P.M., be received and filed. Adopted on ca
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Gholson, Karnes and '>Iayor Cherry (3).
Commissioner Cholson offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the
sale by the City of Paducah to Jenice Ellis of the South East corner of Lot No. 26 in
Block No. $ of the Pushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be
authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call
of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Gholson, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (3)•
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued by
Maryland Casualty Company to the City of Paducah covering work done by Harold L. Jones,
d/b/a ,lest Kentucky Asphalt Paving Company, for a period of one year from Yarch 16, 1962,
be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Gholson, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (3).
Commissioner Karnes offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued by The
Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to Charles R. Hipkiss d/b/a Hipkiss Maintenance
Service and The City of Paducah, Kentucky, for a period of one year from July 16, 1961,
be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Gholson, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (3).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the report of the Police Department for the
month of February, 1962,'be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
CoKunissioners Gholson, Karnes and Mayor Uherry (3).
14,ayor Cherry offered motion that the bid submitted by Y.atterjohn Concrete Products
Company on a precast concrete bridge, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the
Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Gholson, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (3).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that a copy of an Order entered Parch 1, 1962, by
McCracken County Court, stating A. B. Fendley has qualified as Commissioner of the City
of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Gholson, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (3).

REQUESTING THE CITY 14ANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE CITY'S
REQUIREPIENT OF LIIIESTONE FOR THE YEAR 1962 (APPROXITIATELY 5000 TO $000 TONS) TO BE
USED IN STREET CONSTRUCTION aORK", BE ADOPTED. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Gholson, Karnes and Tlayor Cherry (3)•
Commissioner Karnes offered motion that a Resolution entitled; "A RESOLUTICN
REQUESTING THE CITY TIATTAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF TII'3 CITY'S

Commissioner Karnes offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION
OF THE BOARD OF COPWISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KBNTUCKY, PROTESTING AGAINST THE
PASSAGE OF LEGISLATION AT THE 1962 SESSION OF THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE M 7.?0N'.;-ZALTH
OF KENTUCKY, IPSCREASING THE MINIMUM SALARY OF MORS AND CO1a-IISSI0TTERS OF CITIES OF
THE SECOND CLASS", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
