HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 24, Page 351, January 23, 1962Na 351 _ Proceedings of Board of Comm'scionerg City ofPaducah January 23 1962 File Contract :lest Ky Motors Paddy Wagon At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on January 23, 1962, Mayor Pro Tem Gholson presided in the absence of Mayor Cherry and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Fields, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4), Mayor Cherry being absent (1). i Mayor Pro Tem Gholson offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for January 9 January 16 and January 20, 1962 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioi ers Fields, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). / Commissioner Fields offered motion that the executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah and :lest Kentucky Motor Company, Inc., for the sale to the City of one new 1962 G M C Panel truck, for use in the Police Department, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fields, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Gholson (4). Agreement - 1i Commissioner Fields offered motion that the executed cipy of the Agreement between Dept of Highways Project the Kentucky Department of Highways and the City of Paducah regarding traffic and safety SP 73-112-L7 regulations on SP 73-112-L7 Project, be received and filed. Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the copy of the letter of the City Clerk addressed to the Board of Commissioners dated January 1$, 1962, together with the copy of the letter written by her on the same date to Dr. Ralph Osborne, Superintendent of the Board of Education of the City of Paducah, and a copy of her certification as to the total value of all property in the City of Paducah subject to taxation in the year 1962, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas Commissioners Fields, Hornsby Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah and King -Woodall Motors, Inc., for the sale to the City of one new 1962 Model C-750 Ford truck with 16 cubic yard Garwood packer body for use in the Refuse Division, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fields, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Commissioner Hornsby offered the following motion: In connection with the Board of Education tax rate for 1962, I move that the following be received and filed: 1. Copy of Minutes of the Board of Education Meeting of January 20, 1962 relative to the Special School Tax Rate of 50g. 2. Copy of Resolution of the Board of Education of January 20, 1962 relative to the Regular School Tax Rate and Poll Tax. 3. Copy of the General Budgei- for 1962 of the Paducah Independent School District Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fields, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Young and wife, Donna Young, of the east one-half of Lot I!o. 6 in Block No. & wife of the Mausoleum Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery in the sum of ^120.00. I further move that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery lot. Street lights Mayor Pro Tem Gholson offered motion that the City Manager be, and he is hereby, LaClede & Trimbleauthorized to have street lights installed at the following locations: (various) 27th & LaClede 24th & LaClede 23rd & LaClede LaClede between Clay and 23rd Streets 24th & Trimble 25th & Trimble Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fields, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Grand Jury Mayor Pro Tem Gholson offered motion that the report of the Grand Jury concerning report on city jail the condition of the city jail be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fields, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Quit Claim J Commissioner Fields offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE Deed to Department oAUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, TO Highways EXECUTE A QUIT CLAIM DEED TO COMMOP14EALTH OF KENTUCKY, FOR THE USE AND BENEFIT OF THE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS, ALL THE INTEREST OF THE CITY IN CERTAIN PROPERTY NEEDED FOR THE IMPROVE14ENT OF A PUBLIC HIGHWAY WITHIN THE CITY", be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fields, Hornsby Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Amend Zoning Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE Ordinance Sec 22-A-4 APPROVING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE PADUCAH-McCRACKEN COUNTY PLANNING C014MISSION RESPECTING Sec22-A-5 Sec 24-A-3 THE AMENDMENT OF SECTION 22-A-4, SECTION 22-A-5 AND SECTION 24-A-3 OF THE PADUCAH ZONING ORDINANCE -1961 AND AMENDING SAID SECTIONS", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fields, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Pro Tem Gholson (4). Repeal Ordi- Commissioner Karnes offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE nance closin Monroe St a,I REPEALING AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED, 'AN ORDINANCE CLOSING A PORTION OF MONROE STREET AT 3131 31st & alley STREET AND A PORTION OF TWO (2) ALLEYS SITUATES BETWEEN 31ST STREET, 32ND STREET, MONROE STREET AND MADISON STREET', WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF CO"'u-IISSIONERS ON OCTOBER 24, 1961", be adopted.
