At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission ''hamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 2:00 P.M. on January 2, 1962, Mayor Cherry
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Fields, Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (5).
Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called
Meeting to be held at 2:00 P.M. on January 2, 1962, be received and filed. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fields, Ghllson, Hornsby, Karnes and Idayor Cherry
(5).
/ :ayor Cherry offered motion that Winston Gholson be nominated and appointed as
Mayor Pro Tem of the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah, Kentucky. Adopted
on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fields, Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor
Cherry (5).
1 Commissioner Fields offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued by The
Fidelity and Casualty Company to J. E. Harper & J. E. Gray, D/B/A Harper & Gray and The
City of Paducah, Kentucky, for a period of one year from January 1, 1962, be received,
approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fields, Gholson,
Hornsby, Karnes and :•layor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Fields offered motion that Paul Iverlet be temporarily employed as
a laborer in the Floodwall Department of the City, at a salary of "i1.39:' per hour, retro-
active to December 18, 1961. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fields,
Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued by
The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to Morrow & Company and the City of
Paducah, Kentucky for a period of one year from January 1, 1962, be received, approved
and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fields, Gholson, Hornsby,
Karnes and Mayor Cherry (5)
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued
by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to M. C. Ruggles, Jr. covering, trucking
operations within the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for a period of one year from January 1,
1962, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissione7s
Fields, Gholson, Hornsby, Karnes and Mayor Cherry (5).
Commissioner Hornsby offered motion that the executed copy of the Contract betwee

the City of Paducah and Twelfth Street Garage, Inc, for the sale to the City of One new
1962 International Pick-up truck, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,

Commissioner Karnes offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued by

the City of Paducah and D -X Sunray Oil Company for the sale to the City of its require-
ments of petroleum products from January 1, 1962 through June 30, 1962, be received and
filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fields, Gholson, Hornsby, Karni.

Commissioner Gholson offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
REGULATING AUCTION SALES OF JE1JELRY IPI THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND PROVIDING
PENALTIES FOR VIOLATION THEREOF", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Fields, Gholson, Hornsby and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Karnes
votes "bid'.
On motion the meeting adjourned.
