HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 24, Page 338, December 26, 1961N. 338 Liability In: Leslie Feast Board of Commissioners city of Paducah December 26 196, At a Called Ieeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chambe of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 5:00 P.M. on December 26, 1961, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). i-iayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Neeting to be held at 5:00 P.M. on December 26, 1961, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Payor Cherry 5). Mayor Cherry made the following appointments: Subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, I hereby reappoint John /Schneidman as a member of the Board of Park Commissioners for a term of four (4) years, expiring December 13, 1965; and also appoint Lewis Johnson a member of said board, for a term of three (3) years, effective January 1, 1962, and Leon Davis and Bill Coker as members of said board, for a term of four (4) years, beginning January 1, 1962. Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the action of Robert C. Cherry, ;-ayor, in making the following appointments to the Board of Park Commissioners; making said board as now constituted as follows: John Schneidman, whose term expires December 13, 1965 Roy Stewart, Jr., whose term expires February 28, 1962 Dr. John E. Bryan, whose term expires September 23, 1962 Howard Holley, whose term expires September 23, 1962 Phillip Gillihan, whose term expires September 23, 1962 George G. Jacobs, whose term expires September 23, 1964 Woodrow hook, whose term expires September 23, 1964 Lewis Johnson, whose term expires January 1, 1965 Leon Davis, whose term expires January 1, 1966 Bill Coker, whose term expires January 1, 1966. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Cholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Davis "Passed". / Commissioner Davis offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued by New Amsterdam Casualty Company to Leslie Feast for a period of one year from January 1, 1962, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioner Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Payor Cherry (5) Sell grave Commissioner Davis offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the Rushing Add Nellie Robers"n sale by the City of Paducah to Nellie Roberson of the north east corner of Lot No. 24 1 in Block No. 8 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Employ Wilson[Commissioner Fendley offered motion that dilson Layne be temporarily employed Layne in Floodwall a laborer in the Floodwall Department of the City, at a salary of 11.391 per hour, i retroactive to December 19, 1961. Edgar in the sum Eloise H Edgar of •.;550.00 fpr injuries to her caused by an alleged defective sidewalk near 6th and Clay �I Streets, on or about January 9, 1961, be allowed; and that the City Treasurer pay said claim to her and her attorneys, Emery and Carroll, after securing a full and complete release. L..Moss and Jack :•lilson on Buckner Lane, be received and Lane filed. I further move that the Corporation Counsel be instructed to prepare an ordinance providing for the closing of same.
