Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Ilotice of Called Meeting to be held at 8:00 P.M. on October 3, 1961, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5) Report Grand Commissioner Davis offered motion that the report of the Grand Jury regarding Jury condition of the City Jail, be received and filed. Commissioner Davis offered motion that the request of the Paducah Water 'Aorks d for authority to install approximately 400 feet of 6 inch water main along 40th Street from the end of the existing main on 40th Street to the existing main on Buckner Lane and to install approximately 440 feet of 8 inch water main along Brookfield Drive from the existing main on Buchner Lane to the existing main on Bloodland Drive for the purpose stated in said request be granted, and further moved that the adoption of this resolutio and the granting of the request be considered as an agreement on the part of the City of Paducah, to pay the fire hydrant and main rental, as provided in the franchise, on the water mains referred to in said request and in this motion. Said rental to begin when said mains have been installed and water provided for on the streets above referred to. Commissioner Davis offered motion that the letter of Kenneth Wayne Collier n ant dated September 28, 1961, resigning and relinquishing his rights to an appointment as a Fireman in the Fire Department, effective October 2, 1961 be received, accepted and filed; he further moved that the motion adopted by this Board on September 25, 1961, employing the said Kenneth Blayne Collier as a fireman in the fire department of the City of Paducah, effective October 2, 1961 be, and it is hereby, cancelled and rescinded. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the letter of R. G. Matheson, Presid, of Paducah Junior College, dated September 30, 1961, to the Mayor and Commissioners, asking that the Board of Commissioners cause to be placed on the ballot at the general election the question as to raising the maximum levy for support of Paducah Junior College as set forth in KRS 165.170, as amended in 1960, be received and filed. Adopte on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5m. Employ Roger Lee / Mayor Cherry offered motion as follows: Upon recommendation of Art Seelye, Recre- Ramage-Recreatio ation Director, I move that Roger Lee Ramage be temporarily employed as Playground Supervisor, retroactive to September 27, 1961, at a salary of ;1.25 per hour. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hoole and Mayor Cherry (5). Employ Jean Mari l✓ Mayor Cherry offered the following motion: Upon recommendation of Art Seelye, Andello-Recreation Recreation Director, I move that Jean Marie Andello be temporarily employes as Playground Supervisor, retroactive to September 25, 1961 at a salary p , p , y of •,1.000 per hour.
