HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 24, Page 300, July 18, 1961No 300 Proceedings of Board of Commissioners Qy of Paducah July 1$, 1961 At an Adjourned Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on July 18, 1961, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4), Member Gholson being absent (1). J.L.Munal, Jsi Mayor Cherry made the following appointment: It appearing that the term of reappointed Housing Com. I office of J. L. Munal, Jr, as a member of the City of Paducah Municipal Housing Commissiol will expire on July 22, 1961, subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners I hereby reappoint the said J. L. Munal, Jr. as a member of such Commission for a further term of four (4) years, so that said Commission as now constituted shall be composed of �i the following members: Pierce E. Lackey whose term expires July 22, 1962 Morris McBride whose term expires July 22, 1963 I Ray H. Mullen, Jr. whose term expires July 22, 1964 ' J. L. Munal, Jr, whose term expires July 22, 1965 Robert C. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4) Tax ExoneratlCommissioner Fendley offered motion that exonerations prepared and delivered by ions 1 thru 235 a G95 the City Treasurer, being #695 through /700 and #1 through 1#235, inclusive, be received thru 700 II and filed, and that the amountsof same totaling $3,740.18 be exonerated on the tax bills shown and designated by said exonerations. Insurance Commissioner Hook offered motion that the Liability Insurance policy issued by Paducah Marir(a Wallace & The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to Perry Wallace and J. W. Johnson d/b/a Pa - Johnson ducah Marina and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for a period of one year .from Liay 21, 1961, be received, approved and filed. File contract Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copy of the Contract between the fire hose dryer -Pette r City of Paducah and Henry A. Petter Supply Company, for sale to the City of One DL -555 Circul-Air Fire Hose Dryer, be received and filed. File Electri Mayor Cherry offered motion that a copy of a Resolution adopted on July 17, 1961 Plant Board Bond Resolu-I by the Electric Plant Board of the City of Paducah, authorising and providing for the tion issuance of revenue bonds in the sum of $7,050,000.00 for the purpose of acquiring a municipal electric plant, be received and filed. Commissioner Davis offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING, RATIFYING AND CONFIRMING (1) A RESOLUTION OF THE ELECTRIC PLANT BOARD OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, WITH RESPECT TO THE ACQUISITION OF A MUNICIPAL ELECTRIC PLANT AND ISSUANCE OF ELECTRIC PLANT BOARD REVENUE BONDS IN CONNECTION THEREWITH, AND (2) A RESOLUTION OF SAID BOARD ESTABLISHING INITIAL RATES AND CHARGES FOR USE OF THE SERVICES AND FACILITIES OF SAID ELECTRIC PLANT AND SYSTEM", be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Commissioner Davis offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE P14ENDING SECTION $-B OF THE 'APPOINTIVE EMIPLOYEESt CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE', WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947, AND AMENDED ON JANUARY 23, 196111, be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hook and Mayor 'berry (4). Commissioner Hook offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF HENRY A. PETTER SUPPLY COMPANY FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF 1000 FEET OF 11 -INCH FIRE HOSE AND 1000 FEET OF 21 -INCH FIRE HOSE, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAME, AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). Mayor Cherry offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 3 OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: TAN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE EMPLOYMENT OF A CITY PHYSICIAN FOR THE TREATMENT OF ALL INDIGENT WHITE CITIZENS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES TO BE PERFOR14ED BY THE CITY PHYSICIAN; FIXING THE AMOUNT OF HIS COMPENSATION; AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH', WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON JANUARY 23, 1951, AND AMENDED ON SEPTEMBER 27, 1955", be adopted.
