Settlement Refuse & Sewer Jan 1961 Sell grave Rush: Add Hoves Petty At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on February 28, 1961, G?ayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Unutes for January 10, 23, 31, February 11; and 21, 1961 be waived and that the ;Minutes of said meetings prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered the following motion: I move that the following persons be appointed as members of the Board of Appeal as provided for and authorized by Section 107 of the National Building Code heretofore adopted by the Board of Commission- ers of the City of Paducah: Clarence Cole for a term expiring February 28, 1962 11m. R. Burnett for a term expiring February 28, 1963 17m. Stewart for a term expiring February 28, 1964 Obie Fields for a term expiring February 28, 1965 Paul Duncan for a term expiring February 28, 1966 I further move that the aforesaid Wm. R. Burnett, be, and he is hereby, designated and appointed as Chairman of said board. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Davis offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Corrine Beaugard of the north east corner of Lot No. 19 in Block No. 8 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). / Commissioner Fendley offered motion as follows: I move that Art Seelye be employed as Recreation Director on a part-time basis, effective march 1, 1961, at a salary of .'150.00 per month, and on a full-time basis effective June 10, 1961 at a salary of 1?465.00 per month. The services and duties of the said Recreation Director shall be under the direct control and supervision of the City Manager. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the reports of the Paducah `:later Works be received and filed, and that the following checks be turned over to the City Treasurer to be deposited in the proper accounts: Refuse collections for January, 1961 :'10.003.85 Sewer Service Charges for January, 1961 9,928.08 Bad Refuse accounts collected durin Jan, 1961 4.00 Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). 00mmissioner Gholson offered motion that the 9oard of Commissioners approve sale by the City of Paducah to Roves Petty of the north west corner of Lot 19, in 3loc4 8 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that rhe City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery Zrave. .adopted on call of the Roll Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). No 251: Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah Febr"ary 28, 1961 Settle Claim Commissioner Hook offered motion that the claim of Eddie Lane (602 I!o. 6th Street, Eddie Lane Paducah, Kentucky) in the sum of ;1125.00 for damages to his motor vehicle, by City Refuse truck, on February 21, 1961, at or near 6th and Clay Streets be allowed; and that the City Treasurer pay said claim after securing a full and complete release. Industrial t: Mayor Cherry offered motion that the City Manager be, and he is hereby, requested Economic Dev. Survey to place in his budget for the year 1961 the sum of y2,500.00 for use in obtaining an 12,500.00 Industrial and Economic Development Survey of the City. Adopted on call of the Roll, I Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Employ Mayor Cherry offered the following motion: WHEREAS, Frank F. Davis has resigned Attorney City Prosecutor as Assistant Corporation Counsel in charge of Police Court Jork. I noir move that the City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized and directed to employ an attorney or attorneys to handle such work on a temporary basis until a i permanent appointment is made; the salary to be paid for such services shall be the sum of y330.00 per month.
