At a Regular Heeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.:, on April 14, 1959, i;ayor Jacob
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners
Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Jacobs (4), Commissioner Hook being absent (1)
Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the I•:inutes for March 24,
::arch 31 and April S, 1959 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetins as prepared
by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Jacobs (4).
Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the resignation of Edwin Walston,
member of the Fire Department, be received, filed and accepted effective April 25, 1959.

Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the report of the police department
for the month of :larch, 1959, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, and Mayor Jacobs (4).

Commissioner Fairhurst offered motionthat the Board of Commissioners receive,
approve and file liability insurance issued by United States Fidelity and Guaranty
Company to James house and Jesse Sparks dba City Plumbing and Heating Company and the
City of Paducah, Kentucky effective April 4, 1959 for a period of one year; also bond
of the said City Plumbing and Heating Company in the amount of .1000.00 dated April 4,
1959. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson
and Mayor Jacobs (4).

Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive,
approve and file Certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company
of New York to Loren R. Jones and the City of Paducah for a period of one year from
April 8, 1959; also bond of the said Loren Jones in the amount of •x1000.00 dated
January 26, 1959. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst,
Fiendley, Gholson and Mayor Jacobs (4).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive,
approve and file liabilityinsurance issued by United States Fidelity & Guaranty Company
to the City of Paducah covering work done by John Cassidy Construction Company for a
period of one year from April 6, 1959 Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Jacobs (4).
Commissioner Fendley offered motionthat John Robert Bundy be, and he is hereby,
promoted from Chainman to Rodman in the Engineering Department of the City of Paducah,
Kentucky, at a salary of ;x255.00 per month, effective April 16, 1959; said appointment
not beinG under civil service. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Jacobs (4).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that William A. Ferguson be, and he is here
employed as Chainman in the in ineering Department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, at
salary of •J220.00 per month, retroactively effective as of April 6, 1959. Such appoint-
ment not being under civil service. Adopted on call of the Goll, Yeas, Commissioner:

Settle claim vi Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the claim of Paul M. Dean in the

sum of .0'5.00 against the City for damage to his car on or about !-larch 19, 1959, at
Yeiser & Bethel Streets by a vehicle of the Fire Department be allowed, and further
move that the TPeasurer issue check of the City in said amount to Paul M. Dean after
securing a full and complete release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Comm -

Sell lot in Commissioner Gholson offered the following motion: I move that the Board of

Iand Johnston Street.
