HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 24, Page 246, January 31, 1961No 21,6 Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah January 31, 1961 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 6:45 o'clock P.M. on January 31, 1961, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Davis being absent (1)/ Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 6:45 P.M. on January 31, 1961, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). Mayor Cherry made the following appointment; It appearing that the term of office of Patrick T. Lally as a member of the City of Paducah Commissioners Reappoint Pat Lally of Plater Works expired January 6, 1961, subject to the approval of the Board of ,'later Board Commissioners, I hereby reappoint Patrick T. Lally for a term of three (3) years, I so that said board as now constituted shall be composed of the following members: i Robert C. Morrow, whose term expires January 6, 1962 Joe C. Marshall, whose term expires January 6, 1963 Charles A. Wahl, whose term expires January 12, 1963 Patrick T. Lally, whose term expires January 6, 1964 Lee Livingston, indefinite term Robert C. Cherry, Mayor and Ex -officio member Approve Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Board of Commissioners appointment Pat Lally approve the action of Robert C. Cherry, Mayor, reappointing Patrick T. Lally to serve Plater Board I as a member of the City of Paducah Commissioners of 1later Works for a term of three (3) years beginning January 6, 1961. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Gommission ers Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (l). Frank Gholsogj Commissioner Fendley offered the following motion: Upon recommendation transferred I' to Refuse of Ray Kayse, Director of Public :Yorks, I move that Frank Gholson, a temporary laborer in the Street Division of the City of Paducah, be transferred to the Refuse Department as a permanent employee, effective February 1, 1961, and at the salary as provided by ordinance. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). H.L.Anderson Commissioner Fendley offered the following motion: Un on recommendation transferred to Refuseof Ray Kayse, Director of Public :Yorks, I move that H. L. Anderson, a temporary labore in the Street Division of the City of Paducah, be transferred to the Refuse Department as a permanent employee, effective February 1, 1961, and at the salary -'as provided by ordinance. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). Bond Loren Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the bind of Loren R. Jones in R. Jones i the amount of 9'1,000.00 dated January 26, 1961, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (6). Resignation Don Brelsforr Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the resignation of Don Brelsfor Refuse 11 as laborer in the Refuse Division of the Public Works Department, effective January 25 No 247 Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah - January 31. 1961 Resignation Clarence Mi Refuse W.L.Rutter v placed under civil service Delinquent Tax Attorneys 1961, be received, accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). Commissioner Hook offered motion that the resignation of Clarence Minton as laborer in the Refuse Division in the Public 'dorks Department, effective January 25, 1961 be received, accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). Mayor Cherry offered motion that the employment and services of W. L. Rutter as Treasurer of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be placed under civil service, subject to all terms and conditions of applicable law and ordinances, effective February 1, 1961. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). Commissioner Hook offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "Ali ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EMPLOY ATTORNEYS TO INSTITUTE AND PROSECUTE SUITS FOR THE COLLECTION OF DELINQUENT AD VALOREM REAL ESTATE TAXES, AND PROVIDING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SUCH W4PLOY61ENT11, be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). On motion the meeting adjourned. ADOPTED February 14, 1961 APPROVED�J( layor ity Clerk
