Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 5:00 P.M. on January 23, 1961, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas; Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5) Liability Inl.1 Commissioner Dacis offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued by The Loren R Jone �/ Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to Loren R. Jones and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for a period of one year from January 1, 1961, be received and filed. Commissioner Davis offered the following motion: Upon recommendation of Ray Kayse, Director of Public Works, I move that John Ellis, a temporary laborer in the Street Division of the Department of Public Works, be placed under Civil Service as a laborer in said division, effective February 1, 1961, at the compensation as provided by ordinance. Commissioner Davis offered the following motion: Upon recommendation of Ray Kayse, Director of Public Works, I move that Freddie Bundren, a Mechanic Helper in the Street Division of the City of Paducah, be advanced to the position of Auto Repairman, effective February 1, 1961, such employment being under Civil Service. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). i Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the liability insurance policy issued by Meridian Mutual Insurance Company to the City of Paducah covering work done by Blackford Heating and Plumbing Company for a period of one year from February 22, 1961, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the request of the Paducah Water Works for authority to install approximately 190 feet of 8 inch water main along Kennedy Road, beginning at the end of the existing main and extending to the south east corner of the intersection of Kennedy and Blandville Road, be granted, and I further move that the adoption of this resolution and the granting of this request will not obligate the City of Paducah to pay water main rental until such time that said main is further extended e it is necessary to install a fire hydrant. Commissioner Fendley offered the following motion: Upon recommendation of Ray Wooley advanced to Kayse, Director of Public ''forks, I move that Tommie R. Wooley, an Auto Repairman in the Chief Mechan c Street Division of the City of Paducah, be advanced to the position of Chief Mechanic, effective February 1, 1961, such employment being under Civil Service. Refuse & Sewer Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the reports of the Paducah ':later Reports for Decembiar 1960 Works be received and filed, and that the following checks be turned over to the City Treasurer to be deposited in the proper accounts: Refuse collections for December, 1960 39,126.45 Sewer Service charges.for December, 1960 9,105.50 Bad Refuse accounts collected during December, 1960 20.80 Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Robert L Brown Commissioner Gholson offered the following motion: Upon recommendation of Street Division placed under v Ray Kayse, Director of Public Works, I move that Robert L. Brown be appointed as civil service Mechanic Helper in the Street Division of the Public Works Department of the City of Paducah, said employment to be under Civil Service and at the salary provided by ordinance. Said appointment to be effective February 1, 196111 Adopted oncall ofthe Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Thbmas I Tucker j Commissioner Hook offered the following motion: I move that the request of changed from St. Repairman V Thomas I. Tucker, a Civil Service employee in the Department of Public Works, requesting to Laborer his employment be changed from Street Repairman to Laborer, at the corresponding reduction in pay, effective Frbruary 1, 1961, be received and filed. I further move that said request be granted, effective as of said date. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Vernon Leroy Sco t Commissioner Hook offered the following motion: Upon recommendation of Ray advanced to 1-1 Mechanic Helper Kayse, Director of Public Works, I move that Vernon Leroy Scott, a laborer in the Refuse Division Refuse Division of the City of Paducah, be advanced to the position of Mechainc Helper, i effective February 16, 1961, such employment not being under Civil Service. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5) Employ Joe B. Mayor Cherry offered motion that Joe B. Holmes be employed temporarily as Holmes Sdaintenan e Operator-Floodwall Maintenance Operator in. the Floodwall Department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, retroactively effective as of January 16, 1961, at a salary of u270.00 per month. Kenneth L 'rlallac Mayor Cherry offered the following motion: I move that the resignation of Floodwall resignation ✓ Kenneth J. Wallace, as an employee of the Sewage Treatment Plant of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, as of November 29, 1960 be received and filed; and I further move that said resignation be accepted as of said date.
