At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:00 P.M. on October 14, 1960, Mayor Cherry
presided and upon call of the Roll -the following answered to their names: Commission
Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Fendley being absent (1).
Commissioner Davis offered the following motion: I move that the letter of Bert
Rankin requesting a leave of absence as an employee of the Police Department of the
City, of Paducah for a period of twenty (20) days without pay or any other benefits,
and further requesting that the charges preferred against him by this Board on October
11, 1960, and set for trial on October 14, 1960, be withdrawn and no hearing held, be
received and filed. I further move that both requests be, and they are hereby,
granted, with the twenty (20) days leave of absence without pay or any other benefits
to begin on October 16, 1960. adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Davis, Gholson, Book and Mayor Cherry
Commissioner. Hook offered the following motion: I move that the letter of Cecil L.
Buckingham requestinE a leave of absence as an employee of the Police Department of the
City of Paducah for a period of twenty (20) days without pay or any other benefits,
and further requesting that the charges preferred against him by this Board on October
11, 1960, and set for trial on October 14, 1960, be withdrawn and no hearing held, be
received and filed. I further move that both requests be, and they are hereby, granted,
with the twenty (20) days leave of absence without pay or any other benefits to begin
on October 16, 1960. Adopted on call of the Roll, ,Yeas, Commissioners Davis,
Gholson, Hook and i-;ayor Cherry (4).
On motion the meeting adjourned.
