At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on March 31, 1959, i•Fayor Jacobs presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). ' Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the executed copies of the Alotice of Called :;eeting to be held at 7:30 P.M. on March 31, 1959, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and I•iayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the report of the Board of Equal- ization for the year 1959 be received, filed and spread upon the Minutes. Coker, Clerk Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the copy of the letter of the City Clerk addressed to the Board of Commissioners dated March 27, 1959, together with the copy of the letter written by her on the same date to Dr. Ralph Osborne, Superintendent of the Board of 'Education of the City of Paducah, and a copy of her certifiBation as to total value of all property in the City of Paducah subject to ta::ation fn the year 1959, be received and filed. Letter prai fire dept Contract v Brandeis on Grader -file Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the Mayor be, and he is hereby, authorized on behalf of the City, to execute the Lease between the City and County of I•IcCracken to the United States of America of a, tract of land containing 0.175 acres, more or less, contained within the boundary of the Paducah -McCracken County Airport prop erty, said Lease, known as Contract No. FA1-252 for the term beginning July 1, 1959 and ending June 30, 1960 for the use of certain radio equipment has heretofore been executed on behalf of McCracken County by Roy Stewart, County Judge. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and I4ayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the executed copy of the Contract between the City of Paducah and Burns & McDonnell Engineering Company of Kansas City, Missouri, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Gholson offered the following motion: I move that the Board of Commissioners approve the transfer from Harry S. Hook and wife, Emma Hook to Ana Stewart of the west one-half of Lot No. 8 in Block No. 4 of the Mausoleum Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery. I further move that the City Clerk be directed to make the proper transfer on the Cemetery Register. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Ovella Martin of the south west corner of Lot No. 6 in Block No. $ of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, [took and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Gholson offered the following motion: In connection with the Board of Education tax rate for 1959, 1 move that the followring be received and filed:. 1. Copy of the Minutes of the Board of Education of I•larch 27, 1959 relative to the special school tax rate of 46¢. 2. Copy of a resolution of the Board of Education of March 27, 1959 relative to the regular school tax rate and poll tax. 3. Copy of the General Budget for 1959 of the Paducah Independent School District. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Hook offered motion that lilliam L. Rutter be promoted from Assistant Treasurer to Treasurer of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, effective April 1, 1959. Such appointment not being under civil service. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and I•iayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Hoot offered motion that the letter of Otto F. Commissioner Hook offered motion that the contract, dated I•larch 26, 1959, betty the City and Brandeis i•:achinery u. Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "Ail ORDIIAIICE CREATING All URBAN RENE'JAL ADVISORY BOARD FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KEIITUEKY, PRESCRIBIIIG THE MEMBERSHIP, TEAMS OF OFFICE AND DUTIES OF SUCH BOARD; AND PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINT- idEilT OF AN EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF URBAN RENE9AL", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and I•:ayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fendley offered motion that Robert H. Overstreet be, and he is hereby appointed as Executive Director of Urban Renewal for an indefinite term. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). I--- Commissioner Fendley offered the folloi-ting motion: I move that the following persons be appointed as members of the Urban Renewal Advisory Board for the following ;s terms: Fred Paxton for a term of one year . Moble Clark for a term of two years Owen L. Kerth for a term of three years G.
