Gooc: Virgie Gooch :Mater Main ✓ covenant Farrington & Golightly Letter name Beltline Barkley Dri Easement IU 11th Street At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber, City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on August 3, 1960, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll, the following answered to their names: Commissioner Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meetimg to be held at 7:30 P.M. on August 3, 1960, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5) Commissioner Davis offered the following motion: I move that the petition requesting that a street light be placed at the far end of the 2900 block on Alabama Street, together with the report from the police department, be received and filed. Since it appears that this street is justified, I further move that the City Manager request the Kentucky Utilities Company to make said installation. Adopted oncall ,of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the report from the police department for the month of July, 1960, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the Ehdorsement which forms a part of liability insurance policy issued by The Home Indemnity Company to Geurin Concrete Products, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Certificate of Insurance issued by New Amsterdam Casualty Company to Charles F. Farrell and William W. Farrell d/b/a Reliable Advertising Company, for a period of one year from July 6, 1960, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley /Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5)/ Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the claim of John A. Gooch and Virgie Gooch (1434 Langstaff) against the City in the sum of $30.00 for damages to motor vehicle on or about July 1$, 1960, at 9th and Husband Street due to an alleged defective street condition, be allowed; I further move that the City Treasurer pay said claim after securing a full and complete release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Hook offered motion that the Covenant executed on July 26, 1960 by I. Donald Farrington, Mary Lee Farrington, F. E. Golightly and Ors A. Golightly to the City of Paducah for extension of water mains to serve "Woodland Manor Subdivision", whict has been recorded in Deed Book 416, page 233 in the McCracken County Court Clerks office, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion that the letter from Earl H. Smith suggesting that the Beltline Highway through Paducah be named "Alben 11. Barkley Drive" or "Barkley Drive' be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Hook offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE APPLICATION FOR PRELIMINARY LOAN FOR LOW RENT PUBLIC HOUSING", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). i Commissioner Davis offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF RUDD CONSTRUCTION EQUIPMENT COMPANY, INC. FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) NEW 4 -CUBIC YARD MOTOR PICK-UP ST17EEPER FOR USE IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAME AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON WHICH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson,) Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Fendley offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF GILBERTTS PLUMBING AND HEATING COMPANY, INC. IN THE AMOUNT OF �d52,056.20 FOR FURNISHING ALL 14ATERIALS AND WORK FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF CONTRACT NO. 1, FAIRMONT SANITARY SEWERS IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO E XECUTE, ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, A CONTRACT WITH GILBERTTS PLUMBING AND HEATING COMPANY, INC. FOR SAID MATERIALS AND WORK; AND PROVIDING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SAID CONTRACT", be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Commissioner Gholson offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF WRAY WILLIAMS BLUE PRINT COMPANY FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) NEW WHITEPRINTER MACHINE FOR USE IN THE ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAME AND PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UPON1,HICH PURCHASE SHALL BEMADE11, be adopted. Commissioner Hook offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTI THE BID OF KING-WOODALL MOTORS, INC. FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) NEW GARWOOD REFU PACKER ON FORD CHASSIS FOR USE IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS; AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAME AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF WILLIAM F. ROTTGERING FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF FIVE (5) NEW FEDERAL THUMDER BOLT MODEL 1000 SIRENS AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT, FOR USE BY THE CIVIL DEFENSE ALERTING SYSTEM, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be introduced and remain on file for at least one (1) week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
