Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for April 2 I•Iay 3, 1960 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting prepared by the City be approved as written. Katterjo, Geo :g.Katter john, Jr, and his rorife, Merle :garner iCatterjohn, for permission to make a one -inch connec Pines Rd V 11 existing 6 -inch water main owned by the Paducah Mater :•forks located on Pines Ro; 1' the purpose of furnishing water to one residence only located upon lots No. 12, 13, 14, and 16 in Block "D" in Gregory Heights Subdivision and fronting 250 feet on the west side of 40th Street and abutting 190 feet on the south side of Pines Road in McCracken County, Kentucky, and outside the corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed and that the request in said petition be granted in accordance with �I the terms and conditions in said petition. R. L. Brockman, City I•Ianager, expressing appreciation for the courtesy extended them during the Scout -O -Rama last week, be received and filed. Commissioner Davis offered motion that the letter from Mrs. Flora Fields addresse to Mr. Rulie Elliott & Staff expressing appreciation for the way in which they handled the parade during Scout -O -Rama last week, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). i Commissioner Davis offered the following motion: I move that the resignation of Roy Hughes, Sr. as a member of the Paducah Planning and Zoning Commission be received and filed. I further move that said resignation be accepted as of this date. Grief employed as policeman Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). Mayor Cherry offered motion that James D. Grief be employed as a policeman in the police department of the City of Paducah at the beginning salary of 9'270.00 per month, effective May 1$, 1960, provided that by such time he furnishes, at his expense, the City Manager with a satisfactory medical report as to his physical condition, including an electrocardigram. Proceedings Harry Connor appointed Planning & Zoning Approve ap ment Harry Connor Pla & Zoning Board of Commissioners May 10, 1960 City of Paducah Mayor Cherry made the following appointment: WHEREAS, Roy Hughes, Sr. having resigned as a member of the Paducah Planning anc Zoning Commission, I hereby appoint Harry Connor as a member of said Commission to fill the unexpired term of the said Roy Hughes, Sr. which term will expire on Murch 19, 1962, so that said Commission as now constituted shall be composed of the following members: CITY I•EIIBERS Raleigh L. Cherry, Mayor, appointing Harry Connor to serve as a member of the Paducah Planning and Zoning Commission. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). I also hereby appoint Dr. W. Clyde Peel, Jr as a member of said Paducah Golf Commission for a term expiring on I•larch 26, 1962, to fill the vacancy created by the resignation of William Reeves. Commissioner Gholson offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF CLARENCE COLE, JACOB ROSENFIELD AND JOSEPH A. ROSENFIELD FOR THE PURCHASE OF CERTAIN PROPERTY OWNED BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY; AUTHORIZING SUCH SALE TO THEM AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR AND CITY CLERK TO EXECUTE A DEED OF CONVEYANCE TO SAID PROPERTY", be adopted. Mayor Cherry offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING I E PARKING OF VEHICLES ON EITHER SIDE OF BRIDGE STREET FROM REEDER STREET EAST TO THE CITY LIMITS; PRESCRIBING THE PENALTY FOR VIOLATION THEREOF AND REPEALING ALL ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH", be adopted.
