No 15 city of Paducah March 10. 1959 At a Regular Pieeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.Id. on March 10, 1959, i:iayor Jacobs presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioner Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and i5ayor Jacobs (5). Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the I;inutes for February 24th and March 7th, 1959 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings as prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and I4ayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the letter dated February 27, 1959 from Oba D. Fields thanking the police department for its efficiency in answering calls be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the bond of John B. Blackburn, as Principal, and The Fidelity & Casualty Company of New York, as Surety, in the amount of, 41000.00, dated March 9, 1959, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Iiayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, approve and file Certificate of Insurance issued by the Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to C. C. Miller & Clifton Johnson and the City of Paducah, Kentucky for a period of one year from January 1, 1959. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). / Commissioner Hook offered motion that the report of the Police Department for the month of February, 1959, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Hook offered motion as follows: I move that the memorandum of February 26, 1959 from B. D. Sills, Chief Assessor, stating that Joe Hugg, of 228 :forth 12th Street, was over -assessed in the amount of ,x3,670.00 for Tax Bill No. 6510 for 1958 taxes and requesting a refund be made to Mr. Hugg, be received and filed; I further move that the City Treasurer be and he is hereby directed to refund the requested amount of ;)136.89 to Joe Hugg and same to be charged to the proper accounts. Commissioner Gholson offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE CITY MANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE PURCHASE OF THE CITY'S REQUIREI•ENT OF ASPHALT (EITHER LIQUID OR.EMULSIFIED, OR BOTH) FOR TIL YEAR 1959 (AN AMOUNT EQUAL TO APPRO"IMATELY 15 TO 20 CARLOADS) TO BE USED IN STREET COI?STRUCTIO? AND REPAIR :IORK", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholsoh, hook and ?Sayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANYCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF CIALY-ER PROCESS E 01PI-EX , INC. FOR THE PURCHASE OF ONE NNJ MOTOR GRADER, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SAID PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE' be adopted. Adopted on call of the roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner.Fendley left the meeting. Commissioner Gholson offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF REED CRUSHED STONE COI•TANY, INC. FOR SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF i77, i'i$, i#9 AND fill LIMESTONE, KENTUCKY STATE HIGHdAY SPECIFICATIONS, FOR USE BY THE CITY DURING 1959, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY i•ANAGER TO ENTER INTO AND EXECUTE A CONTRACT FOR THE PURCHASE OF SAIF, AND PRESCRIBING•THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID PURCHASE$ SHALL BE MADE", be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least one (1) week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Gholson, Hook and Kayor Jacobs (4). Commissioner Hook offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "Ail ORDINANCE DESIGNATING THE ELECTRIC PLANT BOARD OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH AS THE AGEIIT AND REPRESEI•ITA TIVE OF SAID CITY FOR THE PURPOSE OF NEGOTIATING WITH THE KENTUCKY UTILITIES COMPANY AS TO THE VALUE OF ITS ELECTRIC SYSTEM 1.1ITHIN THE CITY; ALL OF SAID BOARDfS ACTIONS THaIREI TO BE SUBJECT TO RATIFICATION BY THE LEGISLATIVE BODY OF SAID CITY TO THE EXTENT REQUIRED BY LA1.111, be adopted.
