HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 24, Page 131, March 18, 1960Na 131 Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah March 18, 1960 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 6:30 P.M. on March 18, 1960, 'Mayor Cherry pre- sided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner iendley being absent. layor Cherry offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 6:30 P.M. on March 18, 1960, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). Liability Ins. Commissioner Davis offered motion that the liability insurance policy issued by Youngblood Plb & Heat Co The Aetna Casualty and Surety Company to the City of Paducah covering work done by C.1.11. Youngblood d/b/a Youngblood Plumbing and Heating Supply Company for the period from February 27, 1960 to February 27, 1963, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on /call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). Liability Ins.11/ Commissioner Davis offered motion that the liability insurance policy issued by Blackford Plb. & Heat Cc the Meridian Mutual Insurance Company to Billy Joe Blackford d/b/a Blackford Plumbing and Heating Company and the City of Paducah, Kentucky, for a period of one year from February 22, 1960, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yegs, Commissioners Davis, Gholsoh, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). i Bond -Gilbert's,,/ Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Bond of Gilbert's Plumbing & Heating Plb & Heat go .I Company, Inc. in the amount of y3,000.00, dated March 9, 1960, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hoak and Mayor Cherry (4). Petition-Alleyl ✓ Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the petition signed by C. W. Youngblood B'I'1ay & Ky Avej, 17th & 19th and others, requesting the City to fill and grade the alley between Broadway and Kentucky Avenue from 17th to 19th Streets, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). Settle Claim Oommissioner Hook offered motion that the claim of E. L. Reid against the City E.L.Reid for damages to his motor vehicle near 210 Broadway by a city truck on March 2, 1960, in the sum of ;22.00 be allowed, and he further moved that the Treasurer be directed Sell Cemetery Graves Rushin; Add to Mrs. Mary McCorry Sell lot in Oak Grove to Floyd Lovelace to pay said sum to him after securing a dill and complete release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). Commissioner Hook offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Airs. Mary McCorry of the north east and north west corners of Lot No. 14 in Block No. 8 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery graves. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry I Commissioner Hook offered the following motion: I move that the Board of Comm- issioners approve the sale by the City to Floyd Lovelace of a parcel of ground 14x20 feet out of Lot No. 22 in Block No. 3 in the Mausoleum Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and being on Weil Avenue between Rieke Avenue and Johnston Avenue for the sum of }400.01 I further move that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery property. Gammon Slum Clear ante & Developmen Agency Amend Sec. 2 and 4 Repeal Res Accepting Offer Urba Ren. Proj. KY R-15 Transfer offer to SC & D Agency Mayor Cherry offered the following motion: I move that the claim of William H. Gammon (1473 North 10th Street) against the City for damages to his motor vehicle near 6th & Broadway by a city police car on November 28, 1959, in the sum of ,)39.25 be allowed, and further move that the Treasurer be directed to pay said sum to him after securing a full and complete release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). Commissioner Davis offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION AMENDING SECTIONS 2 AND 4 OF A RESOLUTION ENTITLED: fA RESOLUTION SETTING OUT THE NEED FOR THE CREATION OF AN AGENCY FOR THE EXERCISE OF SUCH POWERS, FUNCTIONS, AND DUTIES GRANTED BY CHAPTER 99 OF THE KENTUCKY REVISED STATUTES AND AUTHORIZING THE CREATION OF SUCH AN AGENCY HEREIN', WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COiMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY ON FEBRUARY 23, 1960", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4). Commissioner Gholson offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION REPEALING A RESOLUTION ENTITLED: }RESOLUTION ACCEPTING AN OFFER OF THE UNITED STATES TO MAKE AN ADVANCE OF FEDERAL FUNDS TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY TO AID IN FINANCING THE COST OF CERTAIN SURVEYS AND PLANS FOR URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT NO. KY R-151 AND TRANSFERRING THE OFFER OF SAID UNITED STATES GOVERNMENT FOR ADVANCE OF FEDERAL FUNDS TO THE SLUM CLEARANCE AND DEVELOPMENT AGENCY OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH", be adopted Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Davis, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Cherry (4).
