Massie At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners, held in the Commissi< Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on December 15, 1959, t5ay0i Jacobs presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). I•layor Jacobs offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 7:30 P.M. on December 15, 1959, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that this Board receive and file the following bids submitted for the sale to the City of one (1) heavy duty cab and chassis: hing-wooaall W0r0rs,'Inc. Twelfth Street Garage "lest Kentucky Motor Company Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fairhurst offered motion that the following bids on a packer type refuse body be received and filed: Nanning & Shipley, Inc. Cardinal Carryor Company J. Edinger & Son Dealers Truckstell Sales, Inc. Tri-State Pak -mor Sales & Service, Inc. Hallenberger, Inc. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the motion adopted by the Board on December 1, 1959, providing for the employment of Raymond L. Rose as a temporary maintenance operator in the Floodwall Department be, and the same is hereby, repealed, cancelled and held for naught. Adopted on call: of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fendley offered motion that Norman Cope be employed temporar as a maintenance operator in the Floodwall Department, effective January 1, 1960, at a salary of {?270.00 per month, such employment not being under civil service. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the Bond of Seth E. Giem and associates in the amount of :1,000.00 dated December 4, 1959, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the Board of Commissioners appr the sale by the City of Paducah to Mrs. Mattie C. Massie of the south east corner of Lot No. 13 in Block No. 8 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Paxton E.J,Paxton, Sr ':later works as a member of the Water Works Commission of the City of Paducah be received, accepted and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Fred Kolb Commissioner Gholson offered motion that Fred Kolb, a Class "A" Private in the Fire promoted to L Fire alarm opr Department, be promoted to Fire Alarm Operator in said department, effective December 16, 1959. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Elmer Crouch / Commissioner Gholson offered motion that Elmer Crouch, a Lieutenant in the Fire promoted to! Captain in II prevention Bureau of the Paducah Fire Department, be promoted to Captain in said Fire Fire Prevention Bureau II Prevention Bureau, effective December 16, 1959. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, ommissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and I-layor Jacobs (5). Billy C. Turns., Commissioner Gholson offered the following motion: I move that the letter from changed to I Class "A"PrivaeBilly C. Turner, dated December 6, 1959, requesting that he be changed from Fire Alarm in Fire Dept, Operator to a Class "All Private in the Fire Department, be received and filed. Turner be, and he is hereby, changed from Fire Alarm Operator to Class "AAA Private in said department, effective December 16, 1959. Commissioner Gholson offered motion that William Ellis Murphy be employed as a fireman in the Fire Department of the City of Paducah at the beginning salary of -1)270.00 per month, effective January 1, 1960, provided that by such time he furnishes, at his expense, the City Idanager with a satisfactory medical report as to his physical condition including an electrocardigram. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners /Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Mayor Jacobs made the folloiring appointment: It appearing that the term of David E. Locke as a member of the Board of Commissioners of ;•later Works expired on January 6, 1959 subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, I now therefore appoint Joe C. Marshall as a member of such Commission for a term of one (1) year from January 6, 1959, so that said Commission as now established shall be composed of the following members: Edwin J. Paxton, Sr. for an indefinite term Lee Livingston for an indefinite term Joe C. Marshall for one (1) year from January 6, 1959 Ernest W. Rivers for a term of two years ('2) Xrom January 6, 1955 Patrick T. Lally for a term of three (3) years from January 6, 1955 Richard E. Fairhurst for a term to expire at the expiration of his term of office as a Commissioner of the City of Paducah. i Commissioner Hook offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the action of George G. Jacobs, Mayor appointing Joe C. E.arshall to serve as a member of the Board of Commissioners of 71ater Works for a term ending January 6, 1960. No 102 Proceedings of -�- Board of Commissioners -_ city of Paducah — December 15, 1959 Amend Sec 22 Zoning Ordinance I' Mayor Jacobs made the following appointments: It appearing that the term of JI office of John Ryan as a member of the Civil Service Commission expired on December 9, Ie 1957, subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, I hereby appoint Charles •lahl for a term ending December 9, 1963; and it appearing that the term of office of Amos Chittenden as a member of said board expired on December 9, 1958, subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, I hereby appoint Roger F. Christie for a term which will expire on December 9, 1961; and it appearing that the term of Al Rea as a member of said Board vrill expire on December 9, 1959, subject to the approval of the i Board of Commissioners, I hereby appoint Leslie Feast to such term beginning December 9 1959 and ending December 9, 1962, so that said board as now constituted shall be compos of the following members: Charles P1ah1 whose term expires December 9, 1963 Roger F. Christie whose term expires December 9, 1961, and Leslie Feast whose term expires December 9, 1962. Commissioner Hook offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the I ie / action of George G. Jacobs, Mayor, appointing Charles Wahl to serve as a member of q the Civil Service Commission for a term ending December 9, 1963; Roger F. Christie to serve as a member of said Commission for a term ending December 9, 1961, and Leslie Feast to serve as a member of said Commission for a term ending December 9, 1962. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Fairhurst offered motionthat an ordinance entitled: "API ORDINANCE ACCEPTING THE BID OF MANNING AND SHIPLEY, INC. FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) MODEL 1rr'616 GAR 1:100D LOADPACKER FOR USE IDI THE PUBLIC 1•1ORKS DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON WHICH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE MADE", be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least one (1) week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage. Commissioner Hook offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE FIXIPIG THE APPORTIOR�•EIdT OF THE PUBLIC FUNDS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FOR THE YEAR 1959 APiD APPROPRIATING THE PUBLIC REVENUE AND INCOME OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH FOR SUCH PURPOSES", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners I Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). n Commissioner Hook offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE FINAL REPORT OF THE PADUCAH PLANNING AND ZONING C011I SSIOP RESPECTING THE AciniE-011T OF SECTION 22 OF THE PADUCAH ZONING ORDINANCE, AND -PENDING SAID SECTION be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF ONE (1) NEW 1960 FORD, TILT CAB MODEL h�C-%50, CAB ANF CHASSIS, FOR USE IN THE PUBLIC WORKS DEPART- MENT OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND PRESCRIBING THE CONDITIONS UPON .-IM CH SUCH PURCHASE SHALL BE BLADE", be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least one (1) week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
