Board of Commissioners City of Paducah October 8, 1954 City Manager, and being sufficiently advised, find that the defendants have been guilty of violating rules 4 and 8 of an ordinance adopted by the Board of Commissioner: on January 7, 1947, which rules read as follows: (4) Loitering while on duty or while wearing any part of his uniform. (8) Cowardice, inefficiency or neglect in the performance of duty or disobedience of lawful orders of a superior officer. It is therefore the judgment of the Board of Commissioners that the defendant, Fred Doughty be, and he is hereby suspended from duty in the police department for a period of twenty (20) days, such suspension to be without pay and effective beginning October 8, 1954; and it is the further judgment of the Board of Commissioners that the defendant, Charles Burton be, and he is hereby suspended from duty in the police department for a period of ten :(10) days, such suspension to be without pay and effective October 8, 1954. It is the opinion of the Board of Commissioners that the difference in time in the above suspensions is justified by the fact that the defendant, Charles Burton was a relief man and eras not deriving the car referred to in the charges, and was not it complete control of its operation, and it is the opinion of the Board that his guilt is lesser than that of defendant Fred Doughty. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5). On motion the meeting adjourned. ADOPTED 12-- 1954 Cit`' 1; c..,. APPROVEDs,- 1':ay01`
