HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 23, Page 75, July 23, 1954No. ____ 75. - - --- Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah_ July 23, 1954 At a Called Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:00 P.M. on July 23, 1954, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Hannin being absent (1). Payor Cherry offered motion that the Notices of Called Meeting at 4:00 P.M. on July 23, 1954, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (4). Settlement Commissioner Jacobs offered the following motion: I move that the SETTLEMENT: Refuse ✓ June, 1954 CITY REFUSE ACCOUNT - JUNE 30, 1954, prepared and submitted by the Paducah water Works, be received and filed. I further move that the check in the amount of $9,9$5.25 be turned over to the City Treasurer to be deposited in the General Fund. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and mayor Cherry (4). Street light Commissioner Jacobs offered motion th 13th & Cleve- at the City-Aanager be directed to have an z land investigation made to determine the need for a street light at 13th and Cleveland. He further moved that if upon investigation it is found that a light is needed, i that he instruct the Kentucky Utilities Company to insrall said light. Adopted on call i of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (4). Liability policy Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the Board of Commissioners recieve, file G & H Plumbing Company and approve liability insurance policy issued by the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company p y protecting the City with respect to work done by W. F. Gilbert d/b/a G. & H. Plumbing & Heating Company for a period of one year from July 11, 1954. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (4). Hospital Add. Commissioner Riggs offered the following motion: I move that the attached Pay James A. Hamilton & statement in the amount of $140.75 from James A. Hamilton & Associates, for actual travel Associates and maintenance for Mir. Hazen Dick on March 6, 7 and 5, 1952, a representative of said firm, also the letter from the Ziducah Municipal Hospital Commission by its Chairman, approving the PP ng payment of said account, be received and filed, and that payment thereof be approved and the City Treasurer be directed to pay same from the Advance Planning Funds for the Hospital. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (4). Contract filed Commissioner Riggs offered motion that a Contract, dated July 1' 1 Y.ruu- hoeas , 3 Y 5, 954, between 2 d�mp trucks the City of Paducah and Krug -Thomas Truck and Tractor Company, for the purchase of two (2) International Dump Trucks, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioner:: F.ughds, Jacobs, Riggs and Payor Cherry (4). Advertise for Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTIO1 bid; Radio i quipment AUTHORIZING THE CITY I:ANAGER TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR TILE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, Police Dept. I::`NTUCKY OF CERTAIN RADIO EQUIPI,%NT FOR USE BY TILE POLICE DEPARTMENT; AND PRESCRIBING THE iib"S AdD CO;IDITIC:I; UidUcR WHICH 3AIU BIDS SHALL BE SUBMITTED", be adopted. Board of Commis ignems City of Paducah July 23, 1954 Close part Commissioner Hughes offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "Aid ORDINANCE of Georgia Street btw CLOSING A PORTION OF GEORGIA STREET BETWEEN 28TH STREET AND 29TH STREET IN PADUCAH, 28th L, 25th KENTUCKY; AND AUTHORIZING THE CORPORATION COUNSEL TO INSTITUTE A SUIT IN THE IdcCRACKEN CIRCUIT COURT FOR THE PURPOSE OF HAVING SAID PORTION OF SAID STREET LEGALLY CLOSEDII, be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs, and Mayor Cherry (4). Garbage �% Commissioner Riggs offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE Ordinance amended AidE1;DING SECTION 4 OF ARTICLE VI OF AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: tAN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR A REFUSE COLLECTION SERVICE FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH; PRESCRIBING RULES AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING SANITATION AND THE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF REFUSE; PRESCRIBING CHARGES FOR SAID REFUSE COLLECTION SERVICE AND THE METHOD OF FINANCING SAID SERVICE; AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF SAID ORDINANCE}, MACH WAS ADOPTED BY i THE BOARD OF W-111ISSIONERS ON DEC12-MER 16, 1952, AND AMENDED ON MARCH 24, 1953", be adopted.
