Proceedings of- Baard of Commissioners City of Paducah1dbY--13,_,1954 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky at 7:30 P.M. on July 13, 1954, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Fannin, Jacobs and Mayor Cherry (3). Commissioner Riggs was not present when the meeting was called to order and Commissioner Hughes was absent. Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for June 22, June 30 and July $•,. 1954 be waived and that the Idinutes of said meetings as prepared by the City Cleric be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fannin, Jacobs and mayor Cherry (3). Pierce Lackey Mayor Cherry made the following appointment: It appearing that the term of office Housing Bd. of Joe Habacker as a member of the City of Paducah Municipal Housing Commission will expire or. July 22, 1954, subject to the approval of the Board of Commissioners, I hereby appoint Pierce Lackey to serve as a member of said Commission for a term of four (4) years, so that said board as now constituted shall be composed of the following members: 1illiam Reeves, whose term expires July 22, 1955 Harold Wagner whose term expires July 22, 1956 J. L. Munal, Jr, whose term expires July 22 1957 Pierce Lackey, whose term expires July 22, 1958 Robert C. Cherry, Mayor and Ex -officio member Approve J Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the appointment, Pierce Lackey appointment of Pierce Lackey to serve as a member of the City of Paducah Municipal .Housing Bd. Housing Commission for a term of four (4) years, beginning July 22, 1954• Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fannin, Jacobs and Payor Cherry (3) File bid on , Commissioner Fannin offered motion that the bid submitted by Taylor -Wilson Dump Truck Chevrolet Company for sale of a dump truck to the City be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fannin, Jacobs, and Mayor Cherry (3). ell grave./ Commissioner Fannin offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the Rushing Add Nora Boone sale by the City of Paducah to Fora Boone of Grave No. 46 in Block i:o. 8 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Liability ✓f Cozmiszioner Jacobs offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, file Pnolicy F'.L.Lindley and approve liability policy issued by Federated Mutual Insurance Company protecting the City of Paducah with respect to work done by P. L. Lindley for a period of one year from June 20, 1954. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Jacobs and Mayor Cherry (3). Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah July 13, 1954 i Endorsement/ Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the endorsement of the Fidelity and w.H.Yancy bond Casualty Company which forms a part of construction bond No. 2156693 issued to U. H. Yancy & J. B. idoss d/b/a Yancy & Moss, so that the Principal under said bond be corrected to read W. H. Yancy, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Jacobs and Mayor Cherry (3). Liability Pol., ✓� Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, file & bonds Roscoe Burgess' and approve liability insurance policy issued by the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Ohio Valley Const. Co. Company protecting the City with respect to work done by Roscoe Burgess for a period of one year from July 9, 1954; liability policy issued by the Fidelity and Casualty Company to the City of Paducah for work done by A. B. Rhea & Charlene Story d.b.a Ohio Valley Construction Company for one year from July 7, 1954; and bond of the said Ohio Valley Construction Company in the amount of 6?1,000.00 dated July 7, 1954• Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Jacobs and Mayor Cherry (3). Reappraisal Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the City I -tanager be requested and directed Fiscak- Court Board of Comm to contact the Fiscal Court of McCracken County, Kentucky for the purpose of holding a Joint meeting public hearing before a joint meeting of the Fiscal Court and the Board of Commissioners) of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, concerning the need, necessity and desirability of a reappraisal project to be conducted in McCracken County, Kentucky, including the City of Paducah, by the Department of Revenue of the Commonwealth of Kentucky for reappraisal] of all property in said County and City as provided for by KRS 132.670, and I further move that the City I•Tanager be requested to make a report to this board as soon as possible. Sewer Project Commissioner Hannin offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION Condemn land V t1.E.Harris RECITING THE NEED FOR A RIGHT OF WAY OVER CERTAIN LAND OF W. E. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (4). On motion the meeting adjourned. The meeting was called back to order at 8:30 P.M4. on July 13, 1954, Mayor Cherry presiding and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (3). Amend Civill Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE Service , Ordinance AI.IEHDING SECTION 7 OF THE ?APPOINTIVE EMIPLOYEES? CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE?, WHICH WAS Section 7 ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947 AND PI-WDED ON APRIL 27, 1954" be adopted.
