At a Regular Neeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber
of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on September 9, 1955, Mayor Pro Tem
Hook presided in the absence of Mayor Jacobs, and upon call of the Roll the following
answered to their names: Members Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem Hook (3), Mayor
Jacobs was absent and Commissioner Fairhurst was absent when the meeting was called
to order but arrived later.
i•Sayor Pro Tem Hook offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for August
26th and August 28th, 1958 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings as prepared
by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem Hook (3).
Commissioner Fendley offered the following motion: I move that a memorandum
dated September 6, 1958 from the Director of Public tlorks, regarding the absence of
Freddie R. Campbell from work without permission, be received and filed; T further
move that said Freddie R. Campbell be terminated as a laborer in the Public Works
Department, effective September 8, 1958. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem Hook (3).
Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the liability insurance policy issued byl
Underwriters at Lloyd's, London to G. Carlton 'Jatkins, Emma Watkins & Helen Gramse
d/b/a Noble Park Funland and the City of Paducah, Kentucky and Paducah Park Board for a
period of one year from I:,arch 29, 1958, be received, approved and filed. Adopted on
call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson and I•iayor Pro Tem Hook (3).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the report of the police department for
the month of August, 1958, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the :toll, Yeas,
Commissioners Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pro Tem Rook (3).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Contificate of Insurance issued by
the Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to W. T. dilkinson and the City of Paducat
Kentucky for a period of one year from September lk, 1958, be received, approved and
filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fendley, Gholson and Mayor Pi
Ter. Hook (3).
Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the petition of i'arcoline G. Budde and
othors objecting to the conversion of a parkway in the center of ;:urroll Boulevard
between Clary and Ada^:s Streets, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Co^nissionern r'endley, ,holson and I•iayor Pro Tem Hook (j).
