HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 23, Page 532, June 14, 1958532 P/oceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah Juno 14, 1958 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 8:30 A.M. on June 14, 1958, Mayor Jacobi presided and upon callof the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). :Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes .for May 24., 1958 be waived and.that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be approve as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Petition Commissioner Gholson offered the following motion: I move that the petition Alley Atkins to 13th c signed by E. W. Hiller and others, requesting alley from Atkins Avenue to 13th and Langstaff Work program Langstaff be ditched, graded and graveled, together with a report from the Director of Public Works regarding the cost and work involved in this improvement be received and filed; I further move that this improvement be placed on the work program of the Public Works Department. Commissioner Fendley offered moti on that this Board receive and file the from Mr. T. 0. Thompson, Assistant Director, Division of Prpperty Utilization of the State Department of Education, expressing thanks for the "Duke of Paducah" award recently presented to him. Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the letter from Pars_ Lon R_ P.— commending the Paducah Police Department for its efficiency in answering night calls, be received and filed. Dawson for permission to pick up garbage only, no refuse, from Kresgets, to be transported outside the City for feeding purposes, be granted for a period of six (6) months, upon pa•/ment of the fee provided by ordinance, and that the City G,anager be, and he is hereby, l authorized to issue such permit. Commissioner Hook offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Frank Gholson of the west one-half of Lot No. 44 in Bloc} No. 7 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Cleric be authori.ed to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave.
