HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 23, Page 508, March 22, 1958No. 508 Proceedngs aF Board of Commissioners City of Paducah March 22, 1958 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 8:30 A.M. on March 22, 1958, Mayor Jacobs presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for March 15, 1958 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be approve as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Fairhurst, Fendley, Gholson, Hook and Mayor Jacobs (5). Water connec- Commissioner Fendley offered motion that the petition of Charles Edward Hovekam `ion Husband Road - C.E. and wife, Frances Evelyn Hovekamp, for permission to make one 3/4 inch connection to th Hovekamp privately owned water pipe line of the Husbands Road Community Water Company for the purpose of furnishing water to one residence only upon a lot owned by petitioners fronting 100 feet on the East side of Husbands Road in McCracken County, Kentucky, outside the corporate limits of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed and that the request petitioned for therein be granted subject to the terms and conditions in said petition. Liab Insurance Commissioner Gholson offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, Loren R Jones" Gray & Harper file and approve the following Certificates of Insurance Loren R. Jones and the City of Paducah issued by the Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York for a period of one year from April 8, 1958. J. M. Harper and J. E. Settle Claim Commissioner Hook offered motion that the claim of Mrs. L. B. Garnett, in the Mrs. L. B. Garnett sum of Twenty Dollars ($20.00) against the City for injuries received by her on or about December 14, 1957, because of a fall on a sidewalk on the northside of Broadway �I between 3rd Street and 4th Street, be allowed and that the City Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized to deliver to her a check for said amount after obtaining a complete release signed by her. February 28, 1958, prepared and submitted by the Paducah Water Works, be received and filed. He further moved that the check in the amount of $7,555.55 be turned over to I the City Treasurer to be deposited in the General Fund.
