HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 23, Page 468, November 20, 1957No.— Proceedings of pard of Commissioners CPty of Paducah November 20, 1957 At a Called Fleeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City I{all, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on November 20, 1957, Mayor Jacobs presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5)• I-layor Jacobs offered motion that the executed copies of the Notice of Called Meeting to be held at 7:30 P.M. on November 20, 1957, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and ;Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Trevathan offered motion that the petition signed by W. F. Lu and others, together with a report of the police department concerning the need for a street light on North Thirteenth Street between Salem and Olive be received and filed and that the City Manager be authorized to request Kentucky Utilities Company to insta said light. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). Terminate Commissioner Clark offered motion that the employment and services of Wort', 71.R.Gosset, Franklin E.F.;?ewton Ruble Gossett, Eddiw/Neviton and Leon Green, as temporary laborers in the Public works Leon Green G Department, be and the same are hereby terminated as of November 15, 1957. Commissioner Clark offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Dinella Rose of the west one-half of Lot No. 34 in Block No. 7 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5)• Commissioner Lally offered motion that copies of motions passed by the Planning and Zoning Commission on November 6, 1957 recommending closing of two alleys in the block bounded by Clinton Court, P & I Railroad right of way, Jackson Street and 29th Street, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioner Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Lally offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the tale by the City of Paducah to Nettie Davis of Lot No. 33 in Block No. 70£ the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to executo a deed of conveyance to said cemetery lot. R.E.Fairhurst Wa- ter Board Fairhurst as a member of the Commissioners of 'dater :'forks of Paducah, Kentucky be received, filed and accepted. Commissioner McBride offered motion that the resignation of Carl Duane Nickell Carl D Nickel Supt Parks as Superintendent of Parks and Recreation, effective December 1, 1957, be received, filed and accepted. MacDonald, Jr Close alleys Jackson, 29th dated November 16, 1957, relative to closing two public alleys in the block bounded by Clinton C 29th Street, Jackson Street, the P & I Railroad right-of-way and Clinton Court, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacosk (5). Extend time Commissioner Trevathan offered the following motion: I move that the letter of Board of V Equalization E. L. Hayden, Cecil Hughes and B. M. Sproul, members of the present Board of Equaliza- tion of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, dated November 19, 1957, requesting an extension of time until 12:00 Noon, December 28, 1957 in order to complete the review of the reappraisal program, be received and filed. I further move that for such cause said extension be granted under the terms of KRS 92.440 (5). Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
