Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for April 27 and ::ay 1, 1957 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Zoll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, PicBride, Trevathan and b:ayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Lally offered the following motion: I move that a contract entered into on the 10th day of Hay, 1957, by and between Paducah dater ;forks and Paducah Newspapers, Inc., relative to the construction of a six inch or larger cast iron water main along the property of Paducah Newspapers, Inc., fronting on Um.dale Road, if extended, at the western boundary of the City of Paducah, said main extendinc in a westerly direction approximately 600 feet from the city limits and located in ;.icCracken County, Kentucky, and outside the corporate limits of the City of Paducah, be received and filed, and that said contract be approved in accordance with the terms set forth therein. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, i:cBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Clark offered motion that the report of the Director of Public :forks relative to cutting down and draining the alley in the 800 block between North 24th and Borth 25th Streets, be received and filed. He further moved that said improvement be placed on the work program. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, I•IcBride, Trevathan and i•layor Jacobs (5). Commissioner Clark offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, file and approve liability insurance policy issued by i•lassachusetts Bonding and Insurance Company to the Oity of Paducah, Kentucky, covering work done by J. 0. Sutler for a period of one year from Eay 21, 1957. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Oommissioners Clark, Lally, i•:cBride, Trevathan and idayor Jacobs (5). Commissioner dark offered motion that Paul Foster Scott be appointed as a fireman in the 'Fire Department of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, at the beginning Sala: of 260.00 nor month, effective i•iay 16, 1957, provided that by such time he furnishes the +itpi•ana;er, at his own expense, a satisfactory medical report as to his physical condition, including an electrocardigram.
