Pirtl e Nater .gain Harrison 31st 32nd At a Regular ;:eeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 8:30 A.Id. on April 3.3, 1957, Mayor Jacobs presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Clark, Lally, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (4), Commissioner McBride being absent. 1:ayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Ninutes for ;:arch 30, 1957 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, MsMridp} Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (4) Commissioner Clark offered motion that the petition of William loodrow Pirtle and his wife, Florence Pirtle for permission to make one 3/4 inch connection to the 1� inch privately owned water pipe line located on Howle Street and owned by the Schneidman Road Plater Line !dumber 2, for the purpose of furnishing water to one residence only upon a lot fronting 100 feet on the East side of Howle Street in I,IcCracken County, 'Kentucky, and outside the corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed and that the request petitioned for therein be granted subject to the terms and conditions in said petition. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, Trevathan and I•Iayor Jacobs (4). Commissioner Lally offered the following motion: Morris McBride is the owner of property located on Harrison Street between 31st Street and 32nd Street, all of which is presently vacant, and said owner desires that an extension of the existing water main be made so as to provide water service to the property above referred to. It appears from the endorsement by the Board of Commissioners of Water Works that the applicant has complied with all rules and regulations of the said Paducah dater forks as approved by the Board of Commissioners of the City of Paducah. I there fore move that the application of .!orris i•icBride be accepted and approved and that the Board of Commissioners of the Paducah Hater ;'forks be authorized to execute the agreeme for the laying of said extension and that the Board of Commissioners of Paducah Plater ilorks be authorized to lay a six inch main along Harrison Street, beginning at existin main on 32nd Street and extend in an easterly direction to the 'lest side of 31st Street a distance of approximately 510 feet. further move that the adoption of this resolution and the granting of the request con%ained in said application be considered as an agreement on the part of the 7i.ty 0C' i'.,_ _. Commissioner Clark offered motion that the report of the police department on improper parking and drunk under the wheel for the period ending April 8, 1957, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, Trevathan and i•iayor Jacobs (4). ✓ Commissioner Clark offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, fil and approve Certificate of Insurance issued by the Hartford Accident and Indemnity Company covering work done by John A. Eastwood, Jr, d/b/a Eastwood Plumbing Fa Heating Company for a period of one year from April 16, 1957. Adopted on call of the Rol!, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (1;), Commissioner Clark offered motion that the contract entered into on January 15 1957 between Paducah Airport Corporation and Paducah Aviation Corporation be received and filed. He further moved that the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized and directe to approve the original contract on behalf of the City. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (4). Commissioner Clark offered motion that a copy of a contract entered into on January 15, 1957 between the Paducah Airport Corporation and Vance Moyers of Metropoli Illinois dba Ohio Valley Aviation, be received and .filed. He further moved that the I•;ayor be and he is hereby authorized to approve the original contracts on behalf of th City. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, Trevathan and ,,ayor Jacobs (4). Commissioner Clark offered the following motion; I move that the letter of Joseph B. Mullin, Chairman of Riverside Hospital Commission, dated March 28, 1957, to the Board of Commissioners, stating need of certain repairs at Riverside Hospital, be received and filed. I further move that the Assistant City Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to issue a check of the City to the Riverside Hospital Com_v- ission in the amount of .x1,000.00 to be charged to the Contingent hand. Commissioner Lally offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale by the City of Paducah to Erthia I•icCatheren of the east one-half of Lot i:o. 29 in §lock ;fo. 7 of the Rushing addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Jackson of Paducah, Kentucky, has made application for permit as private collector for collecting, transporting and disposing of refuse as provided in Article VI,. vection 4 - of the Refuse Collection and disposal Ordinance, such collection to be made from the Dairy Queen at 2429 Bridge Street. I, therefore, move that such permit be granted to him for a period of six months from this date upon payment in advance of the sum of 9*12.00 for said six-month period at the rate of y2.00 per month.
