Proceeding, a Board of Commissioners City of Paducah February 26 1957
At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the commission Chamber
{ of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on February 26, 1957, Mayor Jacobs
presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners

Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
�! Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for February 19, 1957
be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be approved
as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride,
Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Recommend Commissioner Clark offered motion that this Board receive and file the inter
bid Mn. H.
Powell on departmental memorandum signed by Ray Kayse, Director of Public Works and Ray Joseph,
Bulldozer
Dept of Pub.; Chief Foreman of the Refuse Division of the Public Works Department, recommending the

acceptance of the bid of William H Powell for a used bulldozer. Adopted on call of

The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to Ray Black & William R. Black d/b/a
Ray Black & Son and the City of Paducah for the period ending April 15, 1957. Adopted

Sell grave Commissioner Lally offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the

Lizie Culp Ti sale by the City of Paducah to Lizie Culp of the East one-half of Lot No. 27 in Block
NO. 7 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be
authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call
of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).

Commissioner Trevathan offered the following motion: I move that the
SETTLEI•:ENT: CITY REFUSE ACCOUNTS - January 31, 1957, prepared and submitted by the
Paducah Water Works, be received and filed.
I further move that the check in the amount of :,9,950.60 be turned over to the
City Treasurer to be deposited in the General Fund. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Clark offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "API ORDINANCE
ACCEPTING THE BID OF WILLIAM H. POWELL FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY
OF ONE H. D. 5 DOZIER AND E,2UIPMBNT, AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO CONTRACT TO
PURCHASE SAME", be introduced and remain on file for public inspection for at least
one (1) week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan
and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Lally offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE
AMENDING SECTION 12 OF, AN ORDINANCE ENTITLED: 'AN ORDINANCE PRESCRIBING RULES FOR THE
BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, FIXING THE. TIME FOR HOLDING
REGULAR MEETINGS OF SAID BOARD, AND REPEALING ALL RULES AND ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT
HEREWITHT, WHICH WAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEI•IBER 4, 1951', be
adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride,
Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Trevathan offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "API ORDINANCE
CREATING THE:POSITION OF DIRECTOR OF PARKS AND RECREATION, PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF
SAID POSITION AND THE SALARY THEREOF", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll,
Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner McBride offered motion that Duane Nickell be appointed to the posi-
tion of Director of Parks and Recreation of the City under and pursuant to the terms
of an ordinance adopted on this day by the Board of Commissioners, said appointment
to be effective beginning Parch 7, 1957. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas,
Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
On motion the meeting adjourned.
