HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 23, Page 381, February 12, 195781 Proceedings of Board of CQmmMLgsiOners _ City of Paducah February 12, 1957 At a Regular I•leeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on February 12, 1957, Mayor Jacobs presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5)• I Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for February 5, 1957 be waived and that the I•linutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be i approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, I McBride, .Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). File instruments / Commissioner Clark offered the following motion: I move that the following Sears, Roebuckl,u/ new store, deet{ instruments be received and filed: covenant, etc i (1) A deed of dedication from Emory Williams and wife, Janet A. Williams to the City of Paducah, Kentucky for certain alleys, which has been recorded in Deed Book 381, page 296, in the McCracken County Court Clerkts office. (2) A covenant between Emory Williams and wife, Janet A. Williams, to the City of Paducah, Kentucky for the landscape purposes of two 5 -foot strips of land in what is known as the Sears property, which has been recorded in Deed Book 379, page 2$8 in the aforesaid Clerkts office. (3) A deed from Emory Williams and wife, Janet A. Williams, to the City of rPaducah for sewer easement purposes upon the land known as theSears property, which has been recorded in Deed Book 381, page 304 in the aforesaid Clerk's office. (4) A plat of the above referred to Sewer Easement which has been recorded I; in Plat Book "F", page 22 in the aforesaid Clerkts office. Letter 'dater Co Commissioner Dlark offered motion that the letter of Paducah water Works Lone Oak :late District dated February 8, 1957, recommending the execution of a Supplemental Contract for and Supplemental Contract on behalf of the Commissioners of Water Works and the Lone Oak water District, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, KcBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). Alley Clark & Commissioner Lally offered motion that the report of the Director Public Adams, 17th / of & Armory :fork Program Works, relative to the amount of work required and the cost of opening an alley between Clark & Adams on the southwest side between 17th street and the Armory be received and filed; and he further moved that this improvement be placed on the work program. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and 1•'ayor Jacobs (5). Reject bid Leon G Carney Commissioner i;cBride offered the following motion: I move that the bid of ! 524 :11th St Leon G. Commissioner Trevathan offered the following motion: I move that the letter Franceg permanent from Ed Turner, Fire Chief, addressed to the City Manager dated February 9, 19571 employee of Fire Dept. advising that Rollie J. France has completed fifteen (15) days of probationary period in the Fire Department and recommending that his appointment be made permanent as of February 9, 1957, be received and filed, and I further move that the said Rollie J. Settle claim f Commissioner Trevathan offered motion that the claim of Galen Lowert, Galea Lowery, Route 3, against the City of Paducah in the sum of eight dollars (:'$.00), for damages done to his automobile by a police vehicle on February 1, 1957 at or near 126 Clement Street, be allowed and that the City Treasurer be and he is hereby authorized to issu a check in said amount payable to said Galen Lowery, after securing a full and com- plete release.
