Payor Cherry offered motion that the copies of notice of called meeting to be held on April 6, 1954 at 3:30 P.M., be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the petition signed by E. G. Rushing and others requesting that an alley be opened in the 2500 block of Center Street, running i from Georgia Street to Virginia Street, be received, and referred to the City Manager for investigation and report. Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, .file and approve the Certificate of Insurance issued by the Travelers Insurance Company on March 25, 1954 setting forth the workmen's Compensation and Public Liability Insurance coverage provided by them in connection with the operation of Algernon j Blair, Inc., relative to the construction of the new high school building. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5) Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the bid submitted by Brandeis Machinery & Supply Corporation for the sale to the City of Paducah of an Asphalt Plant and Paving I Machine, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes,Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5). i Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the letter of Mrw. Hubert Bell, 1114 Fern Street, protesting the opening of an alley, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Riggs offered motion that the statement from Thomas J. Nolan & Sons in the amount of 'd3,500.00 for services rendered by Gus Harris, also the letter from I! the Paducah Municipal Hospital Commission by its Chairman, approving the payment of I said account, be received and filed, and that payment thereof be approved and the City Treasurer be directed to pay same from funds in the Riverside Hospital Building I Account.
