Mayor Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for November 13, { 1956 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be approved as vn itten. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, 1 McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). Water Court Avenue ven a io Commissioner McBride offered motion that the petition of Harry Kenneth Meyers Court Avenue and wife, Peggy Ann Meyers, for permission to make one 3/4 -inch connection to a 6 inch water pipe line owned by the Paducah Water Works so as to furnish water to one residence only located upon lots 52, 53 and part of lots 54 and 55 in Block "B" Sunset Court Addition to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, fronting 89.65 feet on the North side of I Court Avenue in McCracken County, Kentucky, and outside the corporate limits of the City �I of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed and that the request petitioned for therein n be granted subject to the terms and conditions in said petition. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). Memorial to Commissioner Clark offered motion that the letter of Paducah Junior Chamber of Barkley , Commerce dated November 11, 1956 to the Board of Commissioners, requesting permission to locate a memorial in honor of the Late Alben W. Barkley inside the parkway on the east side of 28th and Jefferson Streets, be received and filed; and he further moved that said Paducah Junior Chamber of Commerce be, and it is hereby, granted permission to locate such memorial at such place. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). Letter thanks Commissioner Clark offered motion that the letter from Mr. R. G. Jordan, Plant Carbide Nuclear Superintendent, Union Carbide Nuclear Company, expressing appreciation for the assistance furnished during the emergency recently suffered by the Paducah plant, be received and ( filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5). Grave RushingCommissioner Clark offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the Add Mary Powell sale by the City of Paducah to Mary Powell of the East one-half of Lot 23 in Block 7 of the Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. N a�2 — Proceed;"gsof Board of Commissioners City of Paducah_ November 20, 1956 Liability �/ Commissioner Lally offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive, policy ,V.H.Yancy file and approve Certificate of Insurance issued by The Fidelity and Casualty Company of New York to W. H. Yancy and the City of Paducah, Kentucky covering a period of one year from November 4, 1956. West Kentucky Motor Company against the City in the sum of 469.05 for damages to one of their trucks caused by a I city street department truck on or about October 1, 1956, be allowed and that the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby, authorized and directed to issue a check of the City to it :Vest Kentucky Motor Company for such amount after obtaining a full and complete release Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Lally, McBride, Trevathan and li I.layor Jacobs (5). Employ JamesCommissioner McBride offered motion that James A. Clement be employed as A. Clement f, A.B.Admr. & li Alcoholic Beverage Administrator and in connection therewith as License Inspector of Licensb Inspector the City of Paducah, Kentucky, at a salary of u300.00 per month and in addition thereto a motor vehicle allowance of 050.00 per month; such appointment to be effective as of the 21st day of November, 1956; and the said appointee shall not be covered by any ordinance or statute relating to Civil Service and shall not receive any rights of privileges thereunder. Bad refuse Y Commissioner Trevathan offered motion that the report of the Paducah :,later connections Aug. Sept & :forks on bad refuse accounts collected during August, September qnd October, 1956, Oct, 1956 be received and filed. He further moved that the check in the amount of $6.40 be turned over to the i City Treasurer to be deposited in the general fund. CRUMP AND WIFE, MARIE CRUMP, LYING ADJACENT TO THE SOUTHEAST CORPORATE LIMITS OF THE CITY, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY THE BOUNDARY OF SADIE l'HiICH IS TO DE INCLUDED YIITHIi] SAID CORPORATE LIMITS", be adopted. Commissioner Lally offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 8-A OF THE }APPOINTIVE EMPLOYEES, CIVIL SERVICE ORDINANCE', WHICH UAS ADOPTED BY THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS ON DECEMBER 2, 1947 AND AMENDED ON JANUARY 30, 195311, be adopted. Commissioner McBride offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE REGULATING PARKING OF TRUCKS IN THE AREA KNOWN AS BARKLEY PARK, AND PROVIDING PENALTY FOR VIOLATION HEREOF", be adopted.
