At a Regular I•Ieeting of the Board of Commissioners held :in the Commission
Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.Id. on May 22, 1956, Mayor Jacobs
presided and upon call of the Roll the following ansricred to their names: Commissioners
Clark, Gangnath, P• cBride,Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for Play 8,
and I -lay 15, 1956 be waived and that the Minutes of said meetings as prepared by the
City Cleric be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners
Clark, Gangnath, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Gangnath offered the following motion: I move that the petition
signed by members of the Paducah Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution requestin
the Mayor and Commissioners to do all in their pourer to preserve and to perpetuate as a
lasting memorial to General William Clark, the public aarket House, and to the end of
preserving this historic landmark, that the Market House be formally christened "General
William Clark City Market - 1827 - 1905", and that they be granted- the privilege of
providing a suitable bronze marker inscribed with the name and dates as shorn above.
Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Gangnath, McBride,. Trevathan
and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Clark offered motion that the letter from Paul Holland, Assistant
Chief of Police relative to posting of bond for public drunkenness while under the wheel
of a car, even though the car is parked, be received and filed. Adopted on call of
the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Gangnath, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5)/
Commissioner Clark offered the follot•ring motion: I move that the letter from
Ray Kayse, Director of Public Works, to the City Treasurer dated May 15, 1956, relative
to an overcharge on refuse statement to Paducah Electronic Company in the sum of $52.00
be received and filed, and I further move that said overcharge be refunded and that the
City Treasurer be, and he is hereby, directed to issue a check for said amount to said
Paducah Electronic Company. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark,
X.angnath, McBride, Trevathan and Mayor Jacobs (5).
Commissioner Ganfnath offered the following motion: I move that the Board of
Commis3ioners receive and file the budget prepared by Lloyd C. Emery, City Manager for
the period from January 1, 1956 through December 31, 1956, said budget containing
his letter of transmittal, a table of past and estimated revenues, a table of past and
recormended expenditures, and an explanation and justification of recommendations, and
includin` also the appropriations recommended for payrrent of current expenses and for
p^.rr.anent improvements for each department and division thereof, for the aforo3aid
fiscal period., with comparative statements in parallel columns of the appropriations
and expenditures for the current fiscal year and appropriations and expenditures for th
year preced!N- the current f9scal year, and the increases and decrease.- in the appro-
pr!ati ons reco=icrede:i for the aforosaid period as compared with the expenditures for
-h; year 1955, also in itemized' form a statement of the estimated revenuo of the city
for ti -,a aforesaid fiscal period, with eor.:parat.ivo statements in parallel coluuuis of the
revenue for the current an.i next preceding fiscal year, and the increase3 and decrease3

TO THE SOUTH WEST CORPORATE LIMIITS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND DEFINING ACCURATELY
THE BOUNDARY OF THAT TERRITORY PROPOSED TO BE INCLID ED WITHIN THE CORPORATE LIMITS

ACCEPTING THE BID OF THE RADIO CORPORATION OF AMERICA FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF
PADUCAH OF TWO (2) POLICE -MOBILE TRANSMITTER -RECEIVERS FOR USE BY THE CITY, PRESCRIBING
THE TEIUZ AND CONDITIONS OF SAIDPURCHASE AND AUTHORIZING THE CITY 1•,AN AGER TO CO11-^1RACT
