Proceedings of Board Of —Commissioners----- City of Paducah—_-QCtOb Or 25. 1955 _. -I At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P -M. on October 25, 1955, Mayor i j, Pro Tem Jacobs presided At the beginning of the meeting, Mayor Cherry being absent when the meeting was called to order, and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Riggs and Mayor Pro Tem Jacobs (4). Mayor Pro Tem Jacobs offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for October 18, 1955 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Riggs and Mayor Pro Tem Jacobs (4). This being the time and place fixed in the published notice for the consideration of proposals for 91,2$0,000 General Obligation Sewer Bonds, the bids that had been received were opened by Mayor Pro Tem Jacobs and read in full by the City Clerk. dater connection Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the petition of Morris W. McBride Morris McBride Buckner Lane For permission to make one 1 -inch connection to the 3 -inch privately owned water pipeline, owned by Loren M. Jones, so as to furnish water to one residence only i to be constructed upon Lots 11, 12 and 13 in Block "A" of Sunset Court Addition to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, fronting 75 feet on the south side of Buckner Lane, in Mccracken County, Kentucky, and outside the corporate limits of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed and that the request for permission therein be granted, subject to the terms and conditions set out in said petition. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Riggs and Mayor Pro Tem Jacobs Letter Black & Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the letter from Black & Veatch dated Veatch ✓�` October 21, 1955, regarding Project No. 2460 Sanitary Sewerage Improvements, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Riggs and Mayor Pro Tem Jacobs W/ Settle Claim Commissioner Hughes offered motion that the claim of Sirs. A.G.Woods against --rs. A.G-11oods r the City in the sum of 931.95 for damage done to her automobile at 13th Street and Salem Avenue on August. 29, 1955 by a refuse truck of the City be settled for the sum of `=20.00, and that the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby, directed to issue a check_ for said amount to her order after securing a full and complete release. Board gf Commissioners City of Paducah October 25; 1955 Telegram � Commissioner Riggs offered motion that the Western Union Telegram of October 25,1 Carrothers Const. Co, 1955 from Carrothers Construction Company of Paola, Kansas to the City Clerk, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Ries and mayor Pro Tem Jacobs (4). Refuse Commissioner Riggs offered motion as follows: I move that the SETTLEAIENT- Settlement Sept. 1955 CITY REFUSE ACCOUNT - September 30, 1955, prepared and submitted by the Paducah hater ;forks, be received and filed. I further move that the check in the amount of ;15,502.51 be turned over to the City Treasurer to be deposited in the general fund. Adopted on call of the Roll., Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Riggs and Mayor Pro Tem Jacobs (4). At this point the Board recessed for the purpose of- considering the bids they had received of the General Obligation Sevier Bonds. Mayor Cherry arrived during the recess and presided during the remainder of the meeting. Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the letter of Carmac Construction Company of October 25, 1955 extending its commitment to November 10th on bid on Contract Do. 2 of Sanitary Sevier project, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Hughes offered motion that the following bids received for sale by the City of Paducah of ..x1,250,000 General Obligation Sewer Bonds be received and filed: Equitable Securities Corporation & Associates Blythe c: Company, Inc. ec Associates Adopted or. call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and i:ayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the letter of Eastwood Plumbing & Heati Company of October 25, 1955 extending its commitment to November 10th on bid on Contract i:o. 2 of Sanitary Sewer Project, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (2). Commissioner Riggs offered motion that a Resolution entitled: "A RESOLUTION riGOVLDIIIG FOP. TI: - SALE AND AWARD OF H1,250,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION SEWER BONDS, AND APPROVING AIaD AUTE'ORIZING TILE AGRFU-E IT OF SUCH SALE AND AWARD", be adopted.
