City of Paducah At a 'Ie alar :eeting of the Board of Cocnnissioners held in the Co: ,e!7ao,ion Charber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.id. on June l.tt, 1955, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Zoll the followirv; answered to their names: Commissioners Hannin, Huhes, Jacobs, Riggs and Eayor Cherry (5). iayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Ninutes for Kay 24, and;,ay 26, 1955 be waived and that the iiinutes of said meetings as prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners !Tannin, Iluyhes, Jacobs, Riggs and ?:ayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Hughes offered motion that the Board of Coitimissioners receive and file the petition signed by Mrs. William Kolb and others, requesting the installa- tion of a street light at the intersection of River Oaks Boulevard and Spring Street. He further moved that the City Manager have an investigation made to determine whether or not this light is needed and refer back to this Board. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Hannin offered the following motion: I move that the letter from Lloyd C. Emery, City Manager, dated June 14, 1955, relative to the appointment of members of the "City Beautiful Board of the City of Paducah't, be received and filed. I further move that this Board approve the appointment by the City Manager of the following members: Carl marquess whose term will expire on June 14, 1956 Victor Yaffe whose term will expire on June 14, 1956 Dr. Logan Weaver whose term will expire on June 14, 1960 Rev. Bedford Turner whose term will expire on June 14, 1960 Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Iiannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and i•_ayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the check in the amount of b5.60 from the Paducah water Works which represents bard refuse accounts collected during the month of April 1955 be turned over to the City Treasurer to be deposited to the General Fund. Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the copy of the motion passed by the Paducah Planning and Zoning Commission recommending the closing of a portion of Thurman Street, be received and filed.
