HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 23, Page 113, November 23, 1954113 No. Proceedings of Boa$d of Commissioners _ City of Paducah November ?.3, 1954 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.PI. on November 23, 1954, Mayor I, Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5). Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minites for November 16, 1954 I' be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, eggs and Mayor Cherry (5). Petitions / Mayor Cherry offered motion that the various petitions and letters requesting one-way Sts that one-way traffic on Broadwiay and Jefferson Streets be restored immediately, be � received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5). Bids on Leader Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the followring bid on 4-wheol loader be filed received and filed: Brandeis Machinery & Supply Corporation. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5). Sell grave ✓ Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the Rushing Add— I•lary Browm sale by the City of Paducah to Mary Browm of Grave No. 53 in Block No. 8 of the Rushing j Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. I SettlementCommissioner Hughes offered motion that the SETTLEMENT: CITY REFUSE ACCOUNT - Refuse Oct. 1954 October 31, 1954, prepared and submitted by the Paducah Water Works be received and filed. He further moved that the check in the amount of .$11,490.53 be turned over to the City Treasurer to be deposited in the General Fund. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5). / Contract ✓ Commissioner Hughes offered motion that the acceptance of Morris A. Lee, I B.orris Lee Audit 1954 Certified Public Accountant, of a contract with the City of Paducah for auditing the city's financial records for the calendar year 1954, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5). Park Board Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the letter from the Paducah Park Board Return ✓ v5, 000 : stating that said Board will turn back to the City ;;5,000 of its 1954 appropriation, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Idayor Cherry (5). Return Check ✓ Commissioner Jacobs offered the following motion: "AUPMEAS, on June 29, 1954 to E.: -Fuller the City o£ Paducah, Kentucky, entered into a contract with E. I. Y Y, , Fuller for the purckias of limestone from the said Fuller during the remainder of the year 1954; and efhcREA , in lieu of eiecuting a performance bond in the sum of x1500.00 the said • �. I:. Fuller deposited with tha City Treasurer a cashier's check of the Peoples first :lationa_1 Ban? & Trust Company, payable to Cho City in the smn of X1500.00; and tIzIE•L3 S, tar City bus purchased all of its limestone needed in the year 1954, and the said s. .. ; Iil.ler has fully and completely carried out the provisions of said ca -tract with tl:e exception of the sum of :;;27.00 owad by hire to tiro City for city scale aei ht fees. Zoning Boa Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive returns �/ 45,000.00 and file copy of a motion adopted by the Paducah Planning and Zoning Commission on November 17, 1954, in which said Commission relinquishes its claim to $5,000 of the uncollected appropriation to said Commission for the year 1954. Adopted on call / of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5). Leppert Bus J Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the letter from Leppert Bus Lines, Inc. Lines, Inc. Proposal of Columbus, Ind. and its proposal to operate buses in the City of Paducah, Kentucky, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Iiannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (5). Slum Clear- Commissioner Riggs offered motion that this Board receive and file the copy ince appli.- cation for of the motion adopted by the Paducah Planning and Zoning Commission on November 17, 195 ,11 advancement regarding the pending application for an advancement heretofore submitted to the Divi- sion of Slum Clearance & Urban Redevelopment of the Housing and Home Finance Agency, and that we authorize the City Tanager to proceed in accordance with the recommendation set forth in said motion. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Jacobs, Riggs and I•ayor Cherry (5).
