November 16. 1954 _ At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.MI. on November 16, 1954, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (4), Commissioner Jacobs absent (1) Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for November 9, 1954 be waived and that the MIinutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be approved as ',mitten. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (4). Yiater Connf Commissioner Hughes offered motion that the petition of Luther Ringstaff and ection Husbands Rd., wife, Elmeda Ringstaf£, for permission to make one 3/4 inch connection to the privately owned tinter pipe line of the Husbands Road Community Water Company for the purpose of furnishing water to one residence only upon a lot owned by petitioners fronting 100 feet on the East side of Husbands Road in McCracken County, Kentucky, be received and filed and that the request petitioned for therein be granted subject to the terms and conditions in said petition. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin,! 1 Hughes, Riggs g , and Mayor Cherry Investigate Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the City Manager be, and he is hereby' ' delay ✓ Belt Line requested to investigate the cause of delay in letting of the Belt Line Highway contract, and that he report to this Board as soon as possible. Fletcher against J.W.Fletcher,, the City in the sum of $200.00 for injuries received by him in Noble Park on or about September 15, 1954, be allowed, and that the City Treasurer be, and he is hereby, Ij authorized to issue a check of the City in said sum to the said J. W. Fletcher after obtaining a full and complete release. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, /Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (4). Extend time / Commissioner Hughes offered motion as follows: I move that the letter of Board of ✓✓✓ Ecualization' the Board of Equalizatmon dated November $, 1954, requesting an extension of time for an additional thirty day period, be received and filed. I further move that an ex- tension of time be granted to and including the 15th day of December, 1954, and that the Board continue with the work of equalizing the assessments against real and personal! property until that date. i The reason for granting this extension is that the Board of Equalization has advised that it will be unable to finish its work within the previously assigned period. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hugnes, Riggs and Mayor Enfw ce ✓ Commissioner Riggs offered the following motion: WHEREAS, several complaints; Noise Ordinance have been rade to nerroers of this Board concerning loud, disturbing and unnecessary noise rade by trucks, automobiles, motorcycles and motor scooters; and . viditEAS, on July 29, 1941 the Board of Commissioners adopted an ordinance prohi'oitirZ such noise and providing penalties for the violation. NOd T1i2:20Kr:, 1 move that the City Manager be requested to direct the Chief of Police to use all effort possible Lo curb the making of such noise, and to arrest or cause to be arrested all violators. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (4). Letter ✓ Mayor Cherry offered motion that the letter from Louis Kirchhoff endorsing two - endorsing 2 -way Sts. way traffic on Jefferson Street and part of Broadway, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Hughes, Riggs and Mayor Cherry (4). Le6ters, etc Mayor Cherry offered m,tion that the letters, cards, etc. relative to endorsing 1 -way Sts restoring one-way streets in Paducah, be received and filed.
