Mayor Cherry offered motion that the reading of the Minutes for December 9 and December 11, 1952 be waived and that the Minutes of said meeting as prepared by the City Clerk be approved as written. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Jacobs, Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (5). Water line Commissioner Clark offered motion -that the petition of Mrs. Lillie Shemwell for Minerva Pl. & 1 Sunset Court authority to lay and construct two water lines for the purpose of providing water service to one residence only on Lots 32 and 33 in Block 2 t•linerva Place Addition to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, and to one residence only on Lots 4, 5 and 6 in Block "K' Sunset Court Addition to the City of Paducah, Kentucky, both of said lots being owned by the petitioner, be received and filed and that the request in said petition be I' granted in accordance with the terms set forth therein. Lowry and wife Sunset Court , Mildred L. Loamy, for permission to make one 3/4 inch connection to the 2 inch privately owned water pipe line o:•ned by Loren M. Jones so as to furnish water to one residence to be constructed upon the property owned by the petitioner on Lots 13, 14- 4„15 15and 16 in Block "J” of Sunset Court Addition, outside ehe cit -1-1. ?._ u.t•- c.;' Paduealr, Kentucky be received and filed and the request petitioned for therein be- granted subject to the terms and conditions in said petition. Baker, who resides on Yarbrough Lane in McCracken County outside the corporate limits of Paducah, Kentucky, for authority to lay and construct a water line for the purpose of providing water service to one residence only located on the property of petitioners, be received and filed and that the request in said petition be granted in accordance with the terms set forth therein. Thomas and his wife, Harriet B. Thomas, residing on South 41st Street in McCracken County, Kentucky, outside the corporate limits of Paducah, Kentucky, .for authority to lay and construct a water line for the purpose of providing water service to one residence only located on the property of petitioners, be received and filed and that the requests in said G petition be granted in accordance with the terms set forth therein. Rogers and others regarding inprovement to the 24th street bridge be received and filed and that same be referred to the City ;-tanager. Co. of Building Permit No. 1832 to the Guthrie Investment Company in the amount of ,84.00 1 be received and filed. Nu. .- 521.,?. __ . Since it appears that said permit was not used, He further moved that the amount of $84.00 paid for said permit be refunded to the Guthrie Investment Company. Commissioner Johnston offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive and file the letter from Foreman & Lackey regarding liability policy issued to James R. Smith, etc. covering the erection and maintenance of a fire escape on the building located at 119 Broadway. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark Jacobs, Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Johnston offered motion that the contract entered into between the City of Paducah and Brandeis Machinery & Supply Company for sale to the City of one (1) bull clam type powered shovel be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Clark, Jacobs, Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Clark offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE CLOSING OF A PUBLIC ALLEY ON THE NORTHWEST BOUNDARY OF BLOCK NO. 12 IN JERSEY CITY ADDITION TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH, AND AUTHORIZING THE CORPORATION COUNSEL TO INSTITUTE IN THE MCCRACKEN CIRCUIT COURT A SUIT FOR THE PURPOSE OF HAVING SAID ALLEY LEGALLY CLOSED", be adopted. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commission- ers Clark, Jacobs, Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (5). Commissioner Morrow offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "All ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE BID OF JAMES E. KING AND HOWARD WOODALL, PARTNERS DOING BUSINESS UNDER THE FIRM NAME OF KING-WOODALL MOTOR SALES, FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF THREE (3) 13 -YARD GAR WOOD LOAD -PACKER BODIES FOR USE IN THE COLLECTION OF GARBAGE IN THE CITY OF PADUCAH, FOR THE SUM OF APPRO%IMATELY $22,000.00; AND ALSO THE BID OF ROAD BUILDERS EQUIPMENT COMPANY FOR THE SALE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF THREE (3) 12 -YARD LEACH BODIES FOR THE SUM OF APPROXIMATELY $20,000.00; PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID BIDS ARE ACCEPTED; AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR THE i PURCHASE OF SAID GARBAGE EQUIPMENT; AND APPROPRIATING THE SUM OF $422000.00 FOR PAY!i NT OF THE PURCHASE PRICE THEREOF", be adopted. Rules & Regu- Commissioner Morrow offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE lations Garbage PROVIDING FOR A REFUSE COLLECTION SERVICE FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH; PRESCRIBING RULES collection AND REGULATIONS GOVERNING SANITATION AND THE COLLECTION AND DISPOSAL OF REFUSE; PRESCRIBING CHARGES FOR SAID REFUSE COLLECTION SERVICE AND THE METHOD OF FINANCING SAID SERVICE; AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION OF SAID ORDINANCE", be adopted. Bids on Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that bids submitted by Road Builders Equipment Street sweeper Company, Emmett C. Watson Company and John A. Sugg, Jr. for the sale to the City of Paducah of one (1) pick-up street sweeper, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas Commissioners Clark, Jacobs, Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (5). Accept bid Commissioner Clark offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE Cardinal Cc Dempster PROVIDING FOR THE ACCEPTANCE OF THE BID OF CARDINAL C%TANY OF LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY, Dumpers FOR LEASE WITH OPTION TO PURCHASE TO THE CITY OF PADUCAH OF TWENTY DEMPSTER DUMPER TYPE CONTAINERS; PRESCRIBING THE TERMS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SAID BID IS ACCEPTED AND SAID EQUIPMENT SHALL BE PURCHASED; AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR FOR AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH TO CONTRACT FOR THE LEASE WITH OPTION TO PURCHASE SAME", be introduced and remain on file for one week in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage.
