City of Paducah January 22. 1952 At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Conmission Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on January 22, 1952, Mayor Cherry presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Clark, Jacobs, Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (5)• Minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read. Water line , N Commissioner Clark offered motion that the petition of Maggie Bell Hovekamp re - Meacham Lane siding on Meacham Lane in McCracken County, outside the corporate limits of Paducah, Kentucky, for authority to lay and construct a water line for the purpose of providing rater service to the building located on the property of petitioners be received and filed and that the request in said petition be granted in accordance with the terms set forth therein. It is understood, however, in granting the privilege sought in said petition neither the City of Paducah nor the Commissioners of Water Works shall be obligated to buy said pipe line or any part thereof, and no such obligation shall be contained or be implied hereafter should the territory to be served by the water line to be laid under the authority herein requested be taken into or made a part of the City of Paducah. It is further understood that the petitioners will subscribe for water service at the rates now or hereafter prescribed for water service to consumers outside the city limits of Paducah and subject in all respects to the rules and regulations of the City of Paducah or its Commissioners of Water Works which may be now in force or hereinafter enacted. Nothing in the granting of this petition shall obligate the City of Paducah or its Commissioners of Water Works to guarantee pressure or service, and said water service may be discontinued through said pipe line at any time when in the judgment of its Commissioners of mater Works the furnishing of water to the petitioners or their successors in ownership of the property owned may interfere in any wise with the adequate supply and distribution of water inside the corporate limits of the City of Paducah. Commissioner Clark offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the r~ eeyo sale by the City of Paducah to Shelley Hudson of Grave No. 143 in Block No. 7 of the ::lscn Rushing Addition to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, /Commissioners Clark, Jacobs, Johnston, Morrow and Mayor Cherry (5). Zonin,- �J Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive and file the copy of the motion passed by the City Planning and Zoning Commission on -a.ibi_ January 18, recommending that the alley running through the property of Walker Hall, which property is bounded by Trimble Street, 27th Street, Joe Clifton Drive and Laclede Avenue (extended) be closed. Ave west in which said Commission recommends that an alley lying between two properties of H. of 10th H.R.Owen R. Owen, one fronting on Broadway and the other fronting on Kentucky Avenue approx- imately 160 feet west of 10th Street be closed.
