HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 22, Page 281, August 28, 1951I r No. Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah August 28, 1951 At a Regular Meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission Chamber of the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 P.M. on August 28, 1951, Mayor Johnston j presided and upon call of the Roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Hannin, Jacobs, Sims, Thomas and Mayor Johnston (5). Minutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read. Petition 011 % Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive and file South 30th St.' the petition of Walter Lee Gamblin and others requesting that South 30th street from Schneidman Road to the Lock Joint Pipe Company be oiled. Adopted on call of the Roll, fYeas, Commissioners Hannin, Jacobs, Sims, Thomas and Mayor Johnston (5). Petition Repair' Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive and file Clark St. 19th to 21st the petition of Norman Sanders and others requesting that Clark Street between 19th and 21st Streets be repaired. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, ;Jacobs, Sims, Thomas and Mayor Johnston (5). Petition Traffic Mayor Johnston offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive and file the light 8th and Madison „petition of Mrs. H. P. Kelly and others requesting that a traffic light be placed at the intersection of 8th and Madison Streets. He further moved that the City Manager be directed to take this matter up with the State Highway Department, requesting the imtallation of such a light. Refund Permit j Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the City Treasurer be authorized to refund to Lawrence ✓ Sanders to Lawrence Sanders the sum of $5.20 for building permit No. 396. Permit was issued through an error, due to the fact that both the contractor and owner obtained permits on the same job. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Jacobs, Sims,l Thomas and Mayor Johnston (5). Financial Repor Commissioner Hannin offered motion that the Board of Commissioners receive and file Veterans Village the Financial Report on the Paducah Veteran Village and the Rhodes -Broady Court, dated July 31, 1951 July 31, 1951. Adopted on call of the Roll, Yeas, Commissioners Hannin, Jacobs, Sims, Thomas and Mayor Johnston (5). Sell lot y `o Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the Board of Commissioners accept the offer William 1-1? Lockett of William Lockett in the sum of $100 for Lot 152, 50x3011, located on the south side of Starke Avenue 400 feet east of Kruger Avenue, and that the Corporation Counsel be authorized to prepare for introduction at the next regular meeting an ordinance authorizing the sale of said lot. Cemetery grave Commissioner Jacobs offered motion that the Board of Commissioners approve the sale Rushing Add.to William Hill by the City of Paducah to William Hill oP Grave No. 110 in Block No. 7 of the Rushing Additicr. to Oak Grove Cemetery, and that the City Clerk be authorized to execute a deed of conveyance to said cemetery grave.
