HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 20, Page 87, August 12, 1938NO.��Y Proceedings of ea rd of Oor-inn+ on ra City of Paducoh AuyAit 2, 1938 At a call mooting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commission - era' Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 4:20 o'clock P.M., on the 12th clay of August, 1938, Mayor Waahburn presided and upon call 9T the roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Hank, Melton, Pulliam, Stubblefield and Nnyor ".ashburn (5). ,•.� Mayor Washburn stated reason for call, to -wit: For the purpose of j considering vacancy in the Water Works Commission, and to transact any othor business that may properly come before the meeting. Mayor Washburn offered the followin„ motion: There being a vacancy � Roscoe Reed appointed i member of Water Works in the Commissioners of Water Works, occasioned by the death of S. T. Iiubbard,- I c Commission move that Roscoe Reed, a person qualified under the law to hold said position, be selected as a member of the Board of Commissioners of Water Works to succeed the said j S. T. Hubbard, deceased. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Pulliam, i Stubblefield and Mayor 17ashburn (3). Nays; Commissioners Hank and Melton (2). Commissioner Pulliam offered the following motion: The Architect, E. City Manager authorized to sign contract with T. Hutchings, heretofore employed and engaged in connection with the work of rebuilding E. T. Hutchings for re- building of Riverside and rehabilitating Riverside Hospital, having submitted his contract in writing for Hospital such services as heretofore contemplated, and the City Manager having heretofore been authorized to make arrangements for such employment and the work in connection with said hospital,- I now move that the City Manager be authorized, empowered and instruct- ed, for and on behalf of the City of Paducah, to sign said contract papers with said Architect. Adopted on call of the roll: Yens; Commissioners Hank, Melton, Pulliam, StubUefield and Mayor Washburn (5). Potter Supply Company"11 Mayor 17aahburn offered the following motion: The City Manager having awar^ed contract for 500 feet fire hose !!advertised for bids upon certain fire hose to be used in the Fire Department, and the Fetter Supply Company having submitted a bid on 500 feet of 2� inch wax and gum treated Target brand fire hose with Rocker lug couplings at $1.01 per lineal foot, amounting in all to $505.00,- I move that the City Manager be authorized to purchase said 500 feet of fire hose aforesaid at said price. Adopted on call of the rollz Yeas; Commissioner Hank, Melton, Pulliam, Stubblefield and Mayor i7aohburn (5). Far: -Letter Supply Co. Mayor Washburn offered the following motion: The City Manager having awarded contract for 5r/) feet fire hose acivortised for bids upon certain fire hose to be used in the Fire Department, and the "arr-Lotter Supply Company having submitted a bid on 500 feet of 2� inch double jacket treated fire hose with Rocker lug couplings "Triton" brand, at .97-3/4 cents per lineal foot, amounting in all to $488.75,- I move that the eity Manager be authorizad to purrhane said 500 feet of fire hose aforesaid at said price. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Cc^-isaion-rs Hank, Melton, Pulliam, Stubblefield and Mayor 'Unshburn (5). On noticn meriting adjourned.
