HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 20, Page 497, December 9, 1941No 497 Proceedings of Board of 20ma12010ners City of Paducah December 9, 1941 _ At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commissioners Chamber at the City Hall, Paducuh, Kentucky, at 7:30 o'clock P.N. on the 9th day of December, 1941, Mayor Lackey presided and upon call of the roll the followin answered to their names: Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor Lackey (5). Minutes of the previous meetings were adopted as read. Commissioner Baker offered motion that the report of the Riverside Hospital November, 1941 report Riverside Hospital for the month of November, 1941, be received. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor Lackey (5). Commissioner Dorian offered motion that a resolution entitled: Resolution requesting Congress's aid on TVA "A RESOLUTION REQUESTING SENATOR ALBEN Pi. BARKLEY, SENATOR A. B. CHANDLER AND REPRESENT - bridge ATIVE NOBEL GREGORY, TO URGE THE ADOPTION OF LEGISLATION APPROPRIATING FUNDS TO T(tE TENNESSEE VALLEY AUTHORITY FOR THE C0113TRUCTION OF A HIGHWAY OVER THE DAM LOCATED AT Imove that the City Clerk be authorized to execute on the margin of each of the aforesaid bonds on which the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company Is surety the following endorsement: - "Pursuant to a motion adopted by the Board of Commlanionors of the City of Paducah, Kentucky, at a regular meeting hold on Doc. 9th, 1941, the United States Fidelity and Guaranty Company, surety on the within bond, is hereby fully released from all liability arising under the within bond from and after the data on which the Aetnaua3uairy Company executed a bond as surety fm the officer named herein, but this release shall not affect its llnbilit'y as surety prior to a aid date" ..:!opted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and rI(:;yor :.,+r.:tey (5). Mayor Lackey offered motion that an ordinance entitled: City Probat- ion Officer "All ORDINANCE PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINTMENT BY THE CI7f JUDGE OF ONE OF THE REGUTA R MEMBERS OF THE POLICE DEPARTMENT TO SERVE AS PROBATION OFFICER FOR THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, WITHOUT ADDITIONAL PAY; PRESCRIBING THE DUTIES OF SUCH OFFICER; AND REPEALING ALL PROVISIONS OF ORDINANCES IN CONFLICT HEREWITH", be adopted. Adopted on call o the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor Lackey (5). Tax -xoner- Commissioner Pulliam offered the following motion: I move that a ti ons -1941 exonerations Nos. 6901-7129 inclusive, be received and filed; and that the amount of $2167.68 be exonerated on the tax bills as shown on said exonerations: Clasaifled as follows: Age Limit $ 12.00 Barred by Statutes of Limitations 606.28 Double Assessment 15.90 Erroneous Assessment 94.£8 Property lost or sold 267.42 Deceased 254.19 Out of Business 64.91 Tax Sales 111.56 Flood Loss 1.45 Unknown, cannot locate or non-resident 672.52 Miscellaneous 67.17 Total $ 2167.68 These have been checked, and are due to be exonerated according to my knowledge and belief.
