Board of Commissioners City ojPaducah April 22, 1941 "April 21, 1941" "To The Honorable Mayor, and City Commissioners Paducah, Kentucky Gentlemen: L7o are herewith, in accordance with Section 4399-40, Kentucky Statutes and a regulat- ion of the -Board of Education, submitting our General Budget for the fiscal year of 1941 and respectfully ask that tax levy for the school system be made as previously requested. Out budget will reflect a greater expenditure of funds this year for the reason that we have provided for a building and extensive repair program that the board deems highly necessary. However, this program can be carried out without requesting an Increase in the levy that wan made last year for school purposes by virtue of the board'a economical policy which resulted in considerable savings, which savings are j reflected as a credit in the estimates submitted herewith. i Due consideration has been given by the board to the additional revenue that will be brought about by the Increase in the assessment of the city property, however, the board anticipates a substantial loss from the State Per Capita Tax that would more j than offset this additional revenue to be derived from the increase in the assessments Respectfully submitted, I Lynn B.
