HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 20, Page 374, January 29, 1941NO. 374 ' Proceedings of pard oY Coo,iisriennrs CityofPaducoh January 29, 1941 At a regular mnuting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commissioners Chamber at the City !tall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 2:00 o'clock P.N., on the 29th day of ;Jnnunry, 1941, which mooting was held pursuant to an aerecment of the Board of Commissioners changing the time of the regular meeting from 7:30 otclock P.N., January ' i.25, 1941, to 2:00 otclock P.M., January 29, 1941, which agreement is in words and "figures as follows, to -wit: "We, the undersigned Mayor and Members of the Board of Commisaioners of the City of Paducah, and each of us, hereby waive our right to insist upon the holding of the Regular Mecting of the Board of Commissioners on January 25th, 19dl,st 7:30 ;otclock P.M., as provided under the ordinance fixing the time for such meetings, and Owe further consent and agree that the Regular beating scheduled for said time be postponed until January 29th, 1941, at the hour of 2:00 o'clock P.I.;. City Manager commended / II Mayor Lackey offered motion that the City !•tanager, James P. Smith, be for splendid 1940 record �co:mnendod for his fine record established in 1940 which shows the entire deficit of over ;;63,000.00 was wiped out. This is a record which is unusual in that it revoals qa substantial savings under the budget and a substantial increase in collections from sources of city income. The Commissioners of Uater Piorks approved the petition of Ana Mural Long, subject to the approval of the Mayor and Doard of Corminsionera, end Asa Mural Long havin£ filed with said petition the written permission of Heron, Fields and Tanner, Granting to said petitioner the right to make said connection to the pipe line privately owned by Heron, Fields and Tanner. I move that said petition be received and filed and that the Commission - era of "inter ::arks be permitted to authorize said Asa Mural Long to tap the privately owned writer line a: Fields, Heron and Tanner at a point on the north side of the Cniro Road opposite the residence of the said Asa Mural Long, and to extend said connection -to him residence for the purpose only of supplying water service to the �11 'residence and property of Asa Mural Long.
