HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 20, Page 347, November 12, 1940No 347 Proceedings of Board of Commissioners City of Paducah November 12. 1940 At a reguUr meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the ;Co.-missioners Chamber at the City Hall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 o'clock P.M., on the 12th day of November, 1940, Commissioner Pulliam presided in the absence of Mayor � Lackey, who was out of the city, and upon call of the roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian and Mayor pro tom Pulliam (4) Uinutes of the previous meeting were adopted as read. i Water Co., Commissioner Baker offered motion that the letter of Lois request Ord.' ` authorizing Sutherland, Treasurer of the Paducah hater 'Norks, dated November 12, 1940, requesting acceptance i of deed to i the adoption of an ordinance authorizing the acceptance of a deed to certain property property purchased by it at a sale held by T. A. stiller, Laster Commissioner, on November 11th, 1940, be received and filed. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Hak r, Blackburn, Dorian and Mayor pro tom Pulliam (4). Appropriat- Commissioner Baker offered motion that the City of Paducah Son to State Horticulture i appropriate the sum of $25.00 for an ad in the annual program to be published by the Society $25 •' Kentucky State Idorticulture Society, said sum to be charged to the amount appropriated I to the Contingent Fund under the Apportionment Ordinance for the year 1940. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian and Mayor pro tem Pulliam (4). Commissioner Blackburn offered the following motion: Riverside �? Hospital- The Disaster Loan Corporation having surrendered to the City of Paducah ninety-nine SLC bonds aarrerdored (99) Municipal Hocpital Revenue Bonds, each in the sum of $1,000.00 with coupons to ^ity attached, said bonds having been fully paid and cancelled, and there being on file in the office of the City Treasurer one (1) other bond in the amount of $1,000.00 which w^s never issued: I move that the City Treasurer be directed to make the proper ynotation on her records showing the payment and cancellation of all of the above u mentioned ninety-nine (994 municipal hospital Revenue Bonds surrendered to the City by the Disaster Loan Corporation, the cancellation by the City of Paducah of the remain- inE bond in the amount of $1,000.00 which was not Issued and solei, and that all of said cancelled bonds be destroyed by fire. Ordinance ratifying purchase of property by .Vater Company Mayor.pr0 tom Pulliaim offered motion that an ordinance entitled: "AIT ORDINANCE RATIFYING AILD CONFIRttING THE PURCHASE BY THE C01111.13 9IONERS OF WATER WORKS OF LOT 110. 36 IN BLOCK NO. 7, OLD TOWN OF PADUCAH, TO BE USED IN CONNECTION WITH THE MAINTENA17E AND OPERATION OF THE WATER WORKS SYSTEM IN PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND AUTHORIZING, TIM ACCEPTANCE OF A DEED UPON THE PAYMENT BY SAID COrC6IISZI0NER3 OF TIE PURCIIASE PRICE AMIOUNTING TO $3,000.00" be introduced at a rcCular meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for public inspoction at least seven (7) days in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted shall be in full force and effect ton (10) days thereafter. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Faker, Blackburn, Dorian, and I:oyor i pro tem Pulliam (4). i Unyor pro tem Pulliam offered the following motion: Audit bids received 8: filed and referred to ' 2 move that the bids of Yeager & White; Escott, Grogan & Company; Cotton & Eskew and City Manager j Brown and Imhof, all certified public accountants of Loulaville, Kentucky, and Alexander and associates, Certified'Public Accountants of Evansville, Indiana, for the preparation of an audit of all accounts of the City of rad:c ah for the calendar year 1340, be received and filed, and that the City Manager be requested to study said 'bids and report to this board the bid which he considers the lowest and best. q Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian and Mayor pro tem Pulliam (4). Mayor Pro tem Pulliam offered motion that this regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners be adjourned until Satruday, November 16, 1940 at the hour of 11:00 o'clock A.M.
