HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 20, Page 335, October 9, 1940NO 335 Proceedingsof Board of Commissioners C,ryofPaducoh Octobpr B. 1940 At a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Com- missioners Chamber at the City Rall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 7:30 o'clock P.M. on the 9th day of October, 1940, Mayor Lackey being absent from the City, the meeting was presided over by Mayor pro tem Pulliam and upon call of the roll the following answered to their names: Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian and Mayor pro tam Pulliam (4). Minutes of the previous meetings were adopted as read. "'Ater main Commissioner Baker offered motion that the petition of D. O. Meacham and extendedonon Benton Dwight L. Norman and his wife, Lira. Dorothy Norman, for permisslon to tap the two-inch Meacham,etal privately owned waber line on the Denton Road, outside the corporate limits of Paducah, for the purpose of supplying water for domestic and household purposes to the residence of D. 0. Meacham and to the residence of Dwight L. Norman and wife, Dorothy Norman, be received and filed. I further move that the Commissioners of Plater Works be authorized to grant said request or to install meters and furnish water for domestic and household purposes to the said D. 0. Meacham and Dwight L. Norman and his wife, Dorothy Norman, in all respects in accordance with the rules and regulations of the City of Paducah and the Commissioners of Plater Works for furnishing water service to persons outside the corporate limits. It is understood that the connection to the two-inch water main in the 3anton Road, for the purpose of supplying water to said residences, be made North of t connection supplying water to the Farley School and so as not to interfere in any wise with said connection to the Farley School. It is further understood that this request is granted by the City of Facucah, with the understanding that at any time, when in the judgment of the Com- :ss!onarz of Vinter V.orks, the supply of water outside the corporate limits and through 11 the privately owned water .line, mentioned in the petition, interfcrs with the Servide a �to persons inside the corporate limits of Paducah, then the water service petitioned for therein mey be discontinued. a It 12/further condition that the request of D. 0. It is understood that this request is granted by the City of Paducah, ;;with the understanding that at any time, when in the judgment of the Commissioners of I1%7ater .Yorks, the supplying of water outside the Corporate limits and through the • ,-privately owned water line mentioned in the petition shall interfere with the service lto persons inside the corporate limits of Paducah, then such service may, at any time, -�be discontinued. Commissioner Blackburn offered motion that the petition signed by Petition for Street Light's at 26th & Washington Roland D. Hale, and others in the vicinity of 26th & Washington Streets requesting the installation of a street light at said intersection be received and filed and referred to the City Manager. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Baker, ,Blackburn, Dorian and 1Layor pro tem Pulliam (4). City Usnnger to make ✓ Commissioner Dorian offered motion that the City Manager be instructed survey of street lir,-tin,- needs for Paducah to have a complete, accurate and comprehensive survey made as to the street lighting i (needs of the City of Paducah; this survey to show definitely where street lights are �Ineeded.
