Minutes of the previous meeting wore adopted as read. Payroll - lot Commissioner Baker offered motion that the payroll for the first half Sept., 1940 half of September be allowed in the amount of $9895.58, and that the City Treasurer be authorized to pay same by check drawn on the General Fund. 'Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor Lackey (5). Tax exoner-J Commissioner Pulliam offered the following motion: I move that ations-1940 exonerations Nos. 4405-4986 inclusive be received and filed; and that the amount of .$3559.94 be exonerated on the tax bills as shown on said exonerations. Classified as follows: Age Limit $ 15.00 Court Order 24.31 Unknown, cannot locate or non-resident 1,305.10 Double Assessment 81.84 Erroneous Assessment 189.99 Property lost or sold 286.11 Deceased 396.87 Out of business 583.04 Miscellaneous 562.35 Tax Sales 62.60 Flood Loss 52.53 These have all been checked, and are due to be exonerated accord - Ing to my knowledge and belief. NO. 330 Proceedings of Hoard of Commissioners City of Paducah September 17, 1940 _ Following the pazaage of the above motion, Commisaloner Blackburn advised the members of the board that it was necessary for him to leave the meeting, and said board resumed its business in the absence of Commissioner Blackburn. ✓ Mayor Lackey o.fered the following motion: I move that an ordinance entitled: Ordinance authorizing issuance and sale of "AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF FUNDING BONDS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH Funding Bonds-$64,000.CO; introduced KENTUCKY IN THE AGGREGATE AMOUNT OF SIXTY-FOUR THOUSAND ($64,000.00) DOLLARS, THE PROCEEDS OF l7HICH SHALL BE USED FOR THE PAYMENT AND REDFY.SPTION OF NOTES AGAINST THE CIT OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, IN A LIKE AMOUNT NOW OUTSTANDING VALID OBLIGATIONS OF THE CITY OF PADUCAH", be introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for not less that one (1) week for public Inspection in the completed form In which it shall be put upon its final passage, and if adopted to be in full force and 'effect ten (10) days thereafter. .Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Baker, Dorian, Pulliam and Mayor Lackey (4). Ordinance authorizing Mayor Lackey offered the following 'motion: I move that an ordinance entitled: purchase of $64,000.00 Funding Bonds with surplus"AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING AND PROVIDSNG FOR THE INVESTMENT BY THE CITY OF PADUCAH, Sinking Fund moneys KENTUCKY, FOR THE USE AND BENEFIT -OF ITS SINKING FUND, BY PURCHASING WITH THE SURPLUS ACCUMULATION OF MONIES IN SAID SINKING FUND THE FUNDING BOUDS TO BE ISSUED BY SAID CITY UNDER AFB) PURSUANT TO AN ORDINANCE AUTHORIZING THE ISSUANCE AND SALE OF SAID FUNDING BONDS IN THE AGGREGATE SUM OF $64,000.00, THE PROCEEDS OF 71HICH ARE TO BE USED FOR THE ,PAY1u3NT AND REDEMPTION OF NOTES AGAINST THE CITY OF PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, IN A LIKE AMOUNT '.NO17; OUTSTANDING AS VALID OBLIGATIONS AGAINST SAID CITY", be introduced at a regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners and remain on file for not less than ono (1) ,;week for public inspection in the completed form in which it shall be put upon its cfinal passage, and if adopted to be in full force ant{ effect ten (10) days thereafter. City employees to Countyy Mayor Lackey offered motion that the City Manager be directed to permit all Fair employees of the City,,with.the exception of the members of the Police and Fire Departments, to be absent from duty on the afternoon of 'Thursday, September 19th,1940, for the purpose of attending tho County Fair.
