HomeMy WebLinkAboutMinutes Book 20, Page 320, August 17, 1940NO 320 ' Proceedings of Poard of Commissionors City of Paducah August 17,1940 At a call meeting of the Board of Commissioners held in the Commissioners Chamber at the City Fall, Paducah, Kentucky, at 10 o'clock A.M. on the 17th day of August, 1940, Mayor Lackey presided and upon cell of the roll the following 'answered to their names: Commissioners Bakor, Blackburn, Pulliam and Mayor Lackey (4). :.ayor Lackey stated reason for call, to -wit: For the purpose of approving payroll for the first half of August, 1940 and to transast any other business ;that may come properly before the meeting. ✓ Commissioner Baker offered motion that the payroll for the first half Payroll for firbt half of August, 1940 of August, 1940 be allowed in the amount of $10,403.53 and that the City Troasurer be authorized to pay same,by checks drawn on the General Fund. Adopted on call of the roll: Yeas; Commissioners Baker, Blackburn, Pulliam and Mayor Lackey (4). Mayor Lackey offered the following motion: I move that an ordinance Ordinance to borrow y75,000.00 yentitled: "AN ORDINAtICE AUTHORIZING AND DIRECTING THE MAYOR AND CITY TREASURER TO BORRO'N THE SUM OF SEVENTY-FIVV/ THOUSAND (V5,000.00) DOLLARS FOR THE USE AND BENEFIT OF OF THE CITY OF' PADUCAH, KENTUCKY, AND 70 EXECUTE A NOTE OR NOTES FOR SAID SUM OR SUTAS SFOR AND ON BEHALF OF SAID CITY, AND TO PLEDGE THE REVENUES OF THE CITY FOR THE IA ST ONE-HALF OF THE YEAR 1940 AS SECURITY THEREFOR," be adopted.
